What's the best talent to go along with magic?

  I'm trying to find a good hybrid talent that will also boost my main talent (magic), but I can't decide which one is best combo and stat wise. Anyone have ideas?

  Fighter and Supportive-Alchemy goes along fine with it.

  I've tried to hybrid magic with pretty much every talent over the years, but I still find that magic + magic works the best. Now you can use guard cylinders with wands, so the 'support' side of alchemy works fairly well too. I personally like to use:
  
  Savage Ice Wand + Holy Eagle Mask (Blaze unfortunately does not benefit from the shields mana reduction)
  Ego Fire Wand + Guard Cylinder (I choose to let the fire wand go without the holy eagle mask because firebolt doesn't benefit nearly as much from MATK)
  
  This allows full use of the following skills:
  
  
  

  
  
  • Firebolt (Chaincast)
    
  • Ice Spear
    
  • Blaze
    
  • Life Drain
    
  • Rain Casting
    

  
  Also wind blast, shockwave, fusion/normal bolts, sand burst, barrier spikes. Of course it never hurts to use Counterattack, Windmill, Charge, Defense, Vivace, Lullaby. It might be hard to hotkey all of these skills though.

  I've found that if you knock respite out of the picture, magic compliments fight very well. Thunder's standby stun lets one charge a full focus fist even without mana knuckles. And it doesn't stop there... Also magic +guns also works if you can time yourself well.

  Magic has great synergy with range, alchemy, and martial arts.
  
  I wouldn't recommend using magic alongside melee (aside from defensive purposes), puppetry (barring situational tactics), or gunslinger.
