Hello everyone,
As you know, I don't like to complain much. I like to see the other side more and try to be understanding, but lately it has come to my attention the level of rudeness that has followed recently (or has been going on, but has captured my notice recently). Now do not get this wrong. I am not trolling or flaming, this is a total coherent post to point out some important things that people tend to forget when they play Mabinogi for a while once they settle in. This is just a reminder. I'll get started.
First off, when you play a game, there will be players who will be unfamiliar with a skillset or starting out. Yes, they may be on hard and elite, but if you've played this game for a while, you will have an innate understanding of the game. A Good Mabinogi Player will not rage or quit or yell at the person for not doing what they want to do. Only brats who have little control of their emotion will verbally abuse their teammates.
Second off, every skillset has its up and downs. Positive or negative. And every skillset was made to be viable useful. Little brats get upset when someone is playing a skillset they want to play or do not want to play. Yes, while there is such a thing as synergy, but when joining someone who built their character specifically and telling them to do something else and get upset when they pick a skillset that may be detrimental to your own, that's what little brats do. Communicate politely and fairly. Talking can get pretty far. If the other side is not willing to talk, you can at least have the comfort in knowing you tried politely. You may find out that they may not have access to other skillsets or have no clue what to do, which may bring insight to the situation.
Third off, while there are times you can carry a team to victory by yourself in Mabinogi through great odds either through great skill and build, but does not mean it will happen all the time. You may be in a challenge where you will need the cooperation of others to win. If someone dies or if your team keeps dying, do not blame your teammates for their skillset or how unskilled they are. It takes a team to win and sometimes, the odds are too great to overcome and it may be that your team may not be ready to take on the challenge.
Fourth off, no matter how snazzie you dress or enchant in Mabinogi, there will be times that someone with a better equipment or fashion will show up. A true Mabinogi Player will not get bitter or jealous of another person's equipment or skillset. It's ridiculous how much people yell or get angry at someone for having a higher roll equipment or rank 1 items when they themselves have a great item, but is not better than someone else. The goal of Mabinogi, or MMORPG, is progressing and sometimes, someone may have gotten money or means to obtain something stronger. Does it mean you're useless? Far from it. It takes a team to win in a match, and if that snazzy person who is in your team wins it with you, isn't that good overall? Also remember it works in reverse, while there is always someone with better equipment, there is someone else who will have lesser equipment than yours.
And I will stress again. When the team wins, you win also. Which is the fifth one, I see people who get upset after victory on who gets all kills or so much "kill steals". It doesn't matter. The EXP is shared among members usually and it's ridiculous how much people want to be "the hero" in every game. There are times you shine and other times a teammates shine. Do not get angry or jealous, but work together for victory. Their victory is the team's victory, and since you're part of the team, it's your victory as well.
The sixth one is that everyone started out as a newbie. Whether you started in beta or two weeks ago, everyone was new to the game and knew nothing about it. There are times you will meet newbies and very often they may play badly or perform badly but does that mean they should be yelled out. Remember your roots. We all started new, even the best of us were there trying to figure out how the system works. If you find yourself with a newbie who is dying, give them encouragement. While a lot of people feel that newbies don't listen, there are times when they do listen and some that are grateful for the advice. Even if you inspire one newbie to be better out of the dozens, you are successful in your endeavor.
And finally seven, have fun. It's funny how sometimes you feel forced to grind or play Mabinogi to the point it becomes a chore. It's so easy to place "ourselves" with in-game selves and feel insulted or saddened when we can't meet the quota of what our virtual self should be. Remember Mabinogi is a game and you should have fun. No matter how hard the difficulty is, there's always fun in meeting new people and attempting challenges together. The game no longer becomes fun if you get angry all the time at it. Relax, take a deep breath, and remember that challenges are there to be just that, a challenge, and no matter how frustrating it is, one must exercise control of their emotion and find solutions through it.
Thanks for reading this long post. I do not mean to spread negativity, but I do want to re-spark the essence of Mabinogi and to remind us some important things.
Thanks,
Kenero

I agree with majority of the things you said. In a lot of ways people need to remember especially some of the finicky "pros" that some players will do things that get in the way of "maximum efficiency" or best way to do things over all. It's better to try and ask them to use something different if it clashes with what everyone else is doing.
On a side note easiest way to avoid any issues at least for the most part just solo everything. Help people if they ask questions and don't treat them like they're stupid. The more educated players become the better of a team mate they will make.

I agree with some of your points. (I really needed the reminder that I should not get jealous of others who have better gear and deal better damage. It's hard to sometimes, but thanks.)
However, I'm not really sure what audience you're addressing, and I don't understand the context. I believe you're referring to party runs, in which case: I admit I've been frustrated while running shadow missions with a random party, but I think it's okay to be upset. I don't think I'm charitable enough to disregard another player's fallacies if he or she will get in the way of an entire run, unless it is evident he/she are just inexperienced. Of course it's wrong to start verbally abusing party members, but most players just keep their rage to forums instead of trying to talk it out with the one who is causing the lack of "synergy," as you put it. (I've noticed a lot of members posting in forums about things that other players do to bother them, but there'd probably be less issues if there was better communication.)
It's hard to have the essence of fun you're talking about when Mabinogi is now heavily corroded with pay-to-win. Higher-leveled players feel the need to solo everything in order to rush through a run. The streamlined beginner quests/storyline took out some of the magic that appealed to newbies in the past. Too much has changed about Mabinogi for "solonogi" not to be a thing. Therefore, while your points are valid, it will be hard to adhere to them in such an environment.
Maybe I just read the entire thread the wrong way.
(I tend to be wrong.)
*I don't really think calling out people by labeling them as "brats" will help bring the point across..
Evidently you're trying to appeal to logos, but any demeaning terms lowers the effectiveness of what you're trying to say.

There's no worries. It's just me trying to point out a few things, not everyone will agree.
It's alright to be upset over bad plays, but yelling and verbally abusing teammates should be kept in check.
One of my favorite quotes is, "You need not to like a person, but you can give that person respect."
It sounds silly, but it is what I live by every day.

I've honestly not had this issue as much. I run with randoms from time to time. It's usually a rare pokemon of randoms I run into once in a while.

Without any reforges or pay2win items with just puppetry it's easier to clean content without parties. Especially something like wiz hm. The party typically messes up your control of all the NPCs (pro or new it doesn't matter) so it's quicker to solo it (at least for me)
I think the whole solonogi is a major issue but I think it falls onto nexon to make it more difficult for people to solo then use a party. In which most cases it isn't. A lot of people like to mention something like peaca abyss but it's the same old same old just beefed up. Things like hostage rescue and convoy can be semi team reliant.
My personal opinion is to make solo'ing more difficult and for mabinogi to add some actual mmo aspect to it. A lot of things have been ruined by gacha or players feel so unrewarded for spamming hard lords/SMs for rewards when the drop rate is stupidly low.
*I'm not hating on your post or anything like that. Just sharing my opinion on what you thought as well.

It's a game? Then why does it matter that someone calls people names and harrasses them for mistakes? Sure they're assholes, but maybe that's how they enjoy playing the game. Not everyone likes the mmo part of mabi because tbh the community is full of pricks. And what the hell is a good mabi player. I'm basically doing the exact same thing as I did when I first started except for the fact that I kill things faster. You don't get better at the game, your damage increases. There's barely any skill required. The game, like most games, is a joke and trying to change behaviours to create your own idealized game is just a giant act of masturbation. It's funny seeing how people think that they are on a platform over others because of their morals.

Because there is a real person behind those pixels, with feelings.
Never played tag with your friends or anything? this is the same, the only different thing is the environment, the fact that you don't see their faces doesn't mean that they aren't real.
You can call people names and harass them? sure you can, as for real you can kick someone in the ass and call it faggot or something, but being able to do it does mean it's correct? i don't think so.
It's called being civilized, moral just comes along with it.
Also, harassment is against Nexon rules, so even if you enjoy doing it, you shouldn't do it, just cause that, regardless you have respect for other living-beings or not.

My decision to play Solonogi from about a year back was because of the same problems Kenero brought to light
Except in my case, I actually played both roles: I was sometimes making someone angry, or being angry at someone.
This is why I opted on playing the game by myself, and so far, I haven't gotten angry or made someone become angry at me
(Okay, I might have punched my screen in frustration from the Special Upgrading)
It's almost frightening to see myself losing my emotions so rapidly, when in real life someone can be screaming swears at me and I'll simply look at them in pity.
In the end, it's only because of the difference between each other that causes these conflicts, and unless you're strong enough to deal with and resolve such conflicts (of which I was, admittedly, not), it's better off just enjoying the game by yourself.

Solonogi pretty much solves this issue.
Granted, when I'm in a party and someone just windmills things out of range, I just simply tell them to not do it. Pretty simple thing to do.
It's kind of like looking at LoL matches... there's someone who's just really toxic. The chance is, that person is dumb too. And it's the similar case for mabi.

Preach it man, I hate when people tell me how I should play a game. Really though, isn't all of life a game? I think it is anyway. But yeah people always want to act like they're better than you for some arbitrary reason. I remember once I was chilling at a local playground, nice sunny day, some kids playing on the slide or whatever. Suddenly I just get the urge you know, so I whip it out and start wanking right there. This bitch has the audacity to come up to me and demand I stop and that I shouldn't be doing that. Like, really? No one is forcing you to watch, how am I hurting anyone? Anyway the local police got involved and it was even in the papers, and all these people would see me on the street and act like they were somehow better than me. How many of them do you think wank it all the time in private? I would put money down that at least 90% of them do. But no, for some reason they decided I was in the wrong. Well I'm here to tell everyone: I wank it whenever I want, wherever I want, and to whatever material I want, and no, none of you are better than me because of it.

Damn right. I bet that bitch that stopped me actually gets off
to the memory of me getting off. Damn hypocrites, I tell ya.
