Let's talk about the Life Exploration Cooking Knife

  So yesterday as I was aiming for the Epicure title (6 dishes away from it)
  
  I noticed something about my Life Exploration Knife.
  
  The cooking update gave it the ability to get +92 Damage. Atm, I have it enchanted with Cypress Caliburn, nearly max artisian (48Str, 50Luck [close enough, I'm not going to fiddle with that any further]), and +82 Damage with my current stars.
  
  I equipped and did a comparison. It's 35 Max lower than my Focused Rainbow Beam Sword (1st Generation [90-180]) which is pretty damn good if I don't say so myself. Also, it's crit is higher than my Focused Rainbow Beam Sword thanks to the enchants on it. If I get a max roll Domination enchant on it and max all the stars that would put me at 20 Max deficit compared to a Focused Rainbow Beam.
  
  It's actually starting to become quite the viable weapon, especially with the fact that it can dual wield.
  
  Advantages
  

  
  
  • If more food items are added in the future, it will become stronger
    
  • It can be enchanted, so if better 1handed enchants come out, it can be enhanced even further
    
  • Unlike Beam Swords, it's normal speed, and thus will have decent stun time
    

  
  
  Disadvantages
  

  
  
  • Takes a lot of effort to get it that powerful as getting 5 star dishes is a persistent and tedious thing that requires you to make a lot of different dishes and to continually try and 5 star them
    
  • 0 Min Damage, so it's going to have a large damage range, the more power that gets added to it

  Probably a fun toy weapon, but then again not nearly worth the effort when you can just buy beam swords; and I never really considered stun on dual wield weps useful after dynamic combat. Still I guess if you already have the cooking down like you do, why not?

  Neither can Beam Swords which is why I'm comparing it to Beam Swords, or even Sword of Elisnore as those seem to be the popular choices for dual wielding.
  
  If you want to do a comparison, you compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. So for the sake of argument, let's keep that in mind.

  I believe so. Too lazy to reforge to confirm but if beam swords and Sword of Elisnore can get them, I don't see why this can't as it's classified as a 1handed weapon that can dual wield.

  You are probably right, although we will not know until someone can provide a screenshot. I still find it weird, maybe a little disturbing, that cooking pots have the max damage reforge attached to them even when used with a lance.

  before game breaking reforges, cooking knives were actually quite powerful. My old guild leader dual wielded it. It was glorious

  That would be Kaon.
  
  These knives are viable. But are they worth it? Definitely not.
  And the same goes for the fishing rod, unless you're an elf. Even as an elf, you can just get the scythes to ele 6 and still get red upgrades on it. But then why bother, when you can just do more with knuckles or control bars.

  If you want to compare crap to crap. Rainbow beams arent even the best of the crap.
  But that's me mincing words.

  I think it's nice that it's getting buffed a lil more with every new dish they add. So what if it's not the best of the best? When ever we do have the best of the best people demand nerfs for how extremely efficient it is. Why not use this weapon for fun? It can be strong and look fun at the same time if you work on it.

  The effort to make that weapon even remotely decent is offset by the amount of time invested.
  Gee, sounds like an spirit weapon to me.
