I've read couple of guides describing upgrade stones and stuff, but I'm still confused..
In many of the guides, it said R for Glory Sword (Crit is high on Glory) and S on Drag Fang (min and max dmg is high)
But.. I've also read that Blue comes in handy more because Red relies on a critical chance to actually do the Critical Dmg Bonus..
I have around 80-90 critical chance with my Glory Sword on, and I'm a forever-paladin human (No bonus crit.. D:<)
I still have to level my Commerce, Gold Throw-attackthing, and all the other Luck-giving skills, so I think I should have around 90-100 crit chance when I reach lvl 1.5k-2k. (I'm lvl 370 btw)
So assuming that I have a decent amount of luck (around 90-100% chance) and will MAYBE be able to get more (but not 120-140% crit like some pros).. Would Blue be better? Or Red?
I will be using my Glory Sword for a while (I know Dual Battle swords are good, esp cuz Red Crit dmg, possibly, stacks)
But I will be using Glory Sword for a while.
ALSO! I know that the max crit chance is 30%, and having above 30% crit chance is only good for calculations against the enemy Protection (or was it defense..). I also know that most monsters, especially in like hard-mode shadow missions would only have around.. what was it.. 40-60 protection? So my 90-100% crit chance will become handy, but the 50% dmg bonus (R5 Red upgrade) would ONLY happen on the SLIM 30% crit chance..
WAHH this is confusing.. Sorry I'm really new (obv. lvl 370.. PFFT Nub.) But this is my first time upgrading a sword in mabi and I'm soo exciteddd, but soooo stresseeddddd outtt

Short answer for your case as of now blue would help you more because you have less than 100 crit.
Hardmode monsters - 40 to 50 prot = 80% to 100% critical protection
That means you need 30% higher crit than 80-100 or 110% to 130% crit.
This affects your melee skills that don't ignore protection(aka windmill and assault slash will crit no matter what) Smash, normal attacks will not crit
max always increases your max damage, however should you let your critical hit ranks go to waste? You should try to raise your crit through other means like critical enchants or raising will for fighter or raising luck.
Look into Elegant enchant for crit, and some clothing/armor critical upgrades. Hats can use Vine enchant.

Red upg is much better around 350 max but since it seems like you are newer and it is a dfang, blue seems like the better choice. Though if you ever consider switching that out for lance (which you should eventually) Make it red.

Hmm but I can't change from Blue to Red later, right..?
I think I have around 86% crit right now. Assuming that I will have around 110-130% crit chance later, do you think Red would be better than Blue?
The main reason why I'm asking this is because I want to know that, assuming that I have enough crit chance to use Red efficiently, would Red be better for Glory Sword? Or would blue be better?

Yea my friends told me to eventually switch to a lance, but I want to ONLY after I lvl a few skills first:
1. Windmill rank 1 (I'm almost there!!)
2. Archery skills (rank A-9 for most skills)
3. Lightning (and mana shield)
4. Harvest song!! I want to make some money by doing carpentry (and maybe even commerce)
Is that too much to do before learning lance..?

Come to think of it though, since some bosses and monsters have even more than 50 prot.. Is it even possible to achieve that high a crit chance..?

Down the road red will always end up on top. However it's okay to do blue now because first you need a stronger weapon for yourself to use while leveling up. Second glory sword will be replaced at some point by another red upgraded weapon. Third Blue stones are x2 cheaper than red stones.

Yes, I have 190% crit when I'm buffed and everything. But really for most monsters you dont need more than 150% crit.
If you plan to stick with your glory sword go red, if you want a stronger weapon as of now go blue.

Perfect advice!
By the time you attain your critical goals, you should be well-positioned for the transitions to R upgraded lances.

Just remember that the damage gain is really quick, and the 350 damage mark is a damage you'll reach soon.
That being said, blue may be better for you at the moment, but not for long.

Yeahhhhh, I'd skip that part.

My advice would be to use blue stones, since they will be more effective for you at this point in time.[UB] Blue stones are a lot cheaper as well. [/UB]
By the time you have the stats to use R upgrades efficiently (unless you spam WM), I can guarantee that you will be using different weapons. With that said, I wouldn't recommend using red stones on your glory sword right now, since you'll probably be replacing it when you have the stats to use r upgrades properly.

Since the Glory has high crit, and you can get 350max fairly easily, red will arguably be better.
However, I would either skip special upgrading your glory sword all-together and save the gold for a red upgraded lance, or go go blue on it and save reds for a lance. A good lance is a better investment in the long run.
That said, I made blue upgraded dustin (mostly because it matches my green-blue thames set super well) before I made my red upgraded lance. It still makes a good and fairly cheap grinding weapon and it looks cool :)
If you do like the red color better/like the look and gameplay of the Glory/Don't like lances, etc... I say go for it. It is just a game after all. It's important to have fun.

If you do this, find somebody with an Alpaca and have them log in as the poet so you can shear it and make a speed robe.

I shouldn't rank lightning and mana shield? O_o
Well, I was never sure to rank lightning (a friend just told me to) but doesn't mana shield's efficiency go up with ranks? Right now, a 10 hp-hit on me is like 30 mp-hit on my mana shield.. :/
