  also i like that the symbols for team magma and team aqua's symbols hint at alpha and omega
  and that in x and y there's a traveler that mysteriously talks about another region and how we'll "see it soon"
  and the omega and alpha are on the legendaries themselves

  I found out why they are making these. They apparently lost almost $500 million last year from the 3DS and Wii U underselling, so they are probably releasing these because everyone has been crying for them for years so they know they'll sell.

  Seeing as how Gen 1 and Gen 2 got their remakes respectively, Gen 3 remake was only natural anyways.
  
  As for handhelds go, the 3DS is sitting on its high throne while PSV is working the manure field.
  
  The Wii U just doesn't have games. I imagine Mario Kart 8 will "save" it for this year.

  The PS Vita is actually starting to shape up, it's been the 2nd most sold console console in Japan for quite some time now.
  The Slim Borderlands bundle is starting to sell out, and games are starting to come out in the west so Vita isn't doomed.

  Such is the cost of innovation you know. Sometimes you have brilliant great innovations that everyone loves, other times, not so much. I mean, I really love what they did with the WiiU. If you've ever played Mario Chase with coworkers you would see how fun the WiiU is. Dear god, my whole work office LOVES playing Mario Chase to no end.
  
  Can't wait to see how they revamp the Elite 4 theme. I always did like the Hoenn Elite 4 theme. It'll be good to see Steven again unless they decide to go with Wallace again which I don't mind either as I love that gay champion!

  Also they would likely be doing the remake for the ability to trade Pokemon, since the internal battery on GBA games dies after a while (I know mine has) and the newer DSes and the 3DS do not have a GBA game slot making it difficult for transferring Pokemon from Gen 3 to later ones.
