Neople is doing an Alpha Test for Dungeon Fighter Online Global. They're trying very hard to distance themselves from Nexon, due to Nexon NA's infamous reputation.
http://dnf.neople.com/
Nexon Kr still own Neople if I recall correctly, but it's being done under Neople's name to avoid the name Nexon due to it's reputation, I think.
Honestly I can see ownership changing hands (or Nexon Korea allowing Neople to publish the game), if their latest financial reports (just released today, actually) are any indication. Dungeon and Fighter is their most profitable game, and Nexon America as a whole hasn't turned a profit in recent memory. I imagine they (Nexon as a whole) are going to try and milk the DNF franchise, with their predicted net income loss for the next quarter being 51~62% higher than Q2 2013. That is insanely high. I can see them attempting a relaunch of Global Dungeon and Fighter, just to soften the blow, because I doubt investors were too pleased to learn that.
Another thing they did recently is replace their old CEO with Owen Mahoney, who used to be Nexon's CFO, as they want to try and target western audiences again.
Dungeon and Fighter exceeded all their forecasts in Q1, thanks to Lunar New Year. But unless I'm mistaken, there isn't a major holiday coming up in Q2 that they can coast off of.
Also when I mean Nexon America hasn't turned a profit, I mean that in the most literal sense (15% loss on a constant currency basis). They haven't posted a single gain since 2011, if I recall. They are in the process of restructuring, but I don't think its going to help, considering how many bridges they have burned, and they still have (and probably forever will) a horrible reputation.
Nexon NA drove the game into the ground, they had one job, and they nose dived it and went
"WHEEEEEEEEEEE"
And ran away from the crash laughing like a mad man.

That's just Nexon period.

THQ once had a bad reputation for only publishing movie tie in titles, sure the company went under but it was remembered as a good decent publisher near the end. Changing nexon's reputation not hard.
Some people in finance may think the goal of the management is to maximize profit, but more and more people are coming to term with that, what management need to maximize is market value, and take care of customers. If you take care of customers profit will follow, ensuring healthy growth in the long run. I hope some corporate activists buy out Nexon's board and change its direction, because clearly the current board is not doing enough to make sure the company is running correctly.

I liked THQ all around, they published a lot of good titles. And movie tie-ins are an easy cash grab

It may be just an alpha test, but the way they're going about it doesn't seem to be any bit of an improvement over nexon's handling of the game.
I have lots of hope for this game and see plenty of potential for success, but neople has some serious work to do.

I can't seem to connect to the first 2 channels.
It sucks that this is still stuck in act 2 while all other versions are in act 4.
btw, does anyone remember how to mod the kr voices in?

Just try connecting to the other channels. The first two are almost always full but give you the incorrect error message.

...this is the only thing so far I've seen that warrants making a facebook account for.
I really hope that this goes well.

I gave up; too many error codes and non-functional channels. Time to sit out for a week or so; it's Alpha anyway.

Re-made my loli mage. Also just created a male mage. Never played this class before, seems pretty cool so far.
I might go back to the battlemage, though. Loved the play style.

I actually took the time to make a cdnf account just to play again a while ago.
First thing i made was my battlemage, favorite playstyle for me too. Zoom zoom chaser!
Edit- I do miss the gold-auto looting feature cdnf had though. I got so used to it that I keep just trying to glide over it.

This support is amazing
The servers are now UP!
We were busy doing the following:
- Equipment/Item drop issue is now fixed
- More channels are added (bring your friends along – the more the better!)
The client is updated so there will be additional downloads necessary before you go back in the game.
Now let's party during the weekend:
- Golden Goblin Event: hunt Golden Goblin for equipment pots!
- Burning Blitz Point Event: spend your Blitz Point to get extra bonus for your character!
Also, here is an honest story from us: as this is an Alpha Test we originally did not plan any maintenance, but looking at the massive support the community has shown us, we could not go without fixing few things here and there. As it still is a test, we have a limited number of people working on this project at the moment, but we are doing whatever we can to make this test a pleasant experience for those of you supporting us.
THANK YOU for playing
