err... if the parents are the one who told the childs.. then the parents knew the location of a murdered body and even the axe? maybe they are the murderes or had some sort of connexion to the murder

Please don't do this to me guys.
Whether you have spiritual beliefs or not, it should never be held as evidence in court. I don't know the full story here, but it is far more likely that something fishy is going on than retention of memory after reincarnation.

Sounds right on the money.
Or...yeah,probably set it all up for the sake of attention.

So they murdered someone, hid the body, hid the weapon, got away with it for several years before having a child at which point they waited until he was old enough to speak and told him to trick the police into thinking he knew where the body was at which point he showed them where his parents told him it was and framed an innocent man for the murder, just for attention? That's more convoluted than the original story.

But yea, in the first place it sounded fishy.
I can understand someone just happen to somehow tap into past life memory but.. Post-death memory? While possible it's even more unlikely than remembering past life memory..

Is reincarnation real?
Would make things a lot more interesting.

N-no!
More like, they figured it out or were involved in one way or another, and decided the best way to go to the press with it was to pretend their child was reincarnated with memories in-tact. It's like a real life version of that one TV show, Psyche.
A lot of people do stuff like that, actually. Whenever they figure things out or do something that seems like psychic knowledge or abilities, its mostly because they're abusing something only they know on the situation.

How are you determining the probability of two different supernatural events?

Reincarnation is a possibility. For example, Tibetan Buddhist believe that the Dalai Lama is always reborn after death being reincarnated.

How does he know where his body was burried if he was dead?

I personally don't think of it as supernatural but anyway.
I determine the probability the same way I determine the probability of a meteor falling on the planet whiping the entire population, or the probability of a rogue black hole from passing close enough to the sorlar system to serious mess things up. As it hasn't happened yet eventhrough it's possible it could happen anytime, the probability of such events happening is horribly low that it's almost safe to assume it probably wont happen

Since when is your soul stuck in your body when you die? If near-death experiences and out-of-body experiences are anything to go by in terms of possibility, there is no reason you couldn't follow your murder after your death.

I don't exactly believe in reincarnation myself, and lean more towards it being a hoax.
