I was one of the winners there, I'll let you guess which.
As you all know, I was once part of the greatest guild to ever grace the Alexina server, HER0. What most of you are not aware of, however, was our final guild event. Calling it an "event" hardly does it justice though, it was more of a master plan. Even years after the fact, I'm looking over my shoulder while typing this out.nI don't know if any of the old guild members are still around, but if they are and they see this, it could mean trouble for me. If you don't hear from me in a couple days it's probably too late...but it'll worth it to finally get it off my chest. I'ts time for the story of how close we were to our ultimate goal; the hostile takeover of all of Alexina, and establishing ourselves as the one true guild.
This plan had been in the works for months. It was our Glorious Leader, John Legend, that had first come up with it. It would have started right away, but it involved seduction, a skill which many members of the guild lacked. This was the original reason for my recruitment, as I was a well known cybering expert. All of our members spent countless hours cybering in guild chat, while I was there to give tips and pointers on technique. When the day finally came that I felt satisfied with all the members performances, we would begin the plan. Before we began, however, we ran into a road block.
We were not the most loved guild at the time, I confess it. Even though our inner workings were kept largely secret, I feel like other people could sense our devious plan. Thus we had to create an illusion that we had been crushed, and that we had no reason to be feared. It was our resident pro player, Duck Bow, that originally thought of the way to do this. I'll spare you the details, but it worked. We had a mass exodus from the guild (part of the plan), and did it in a way that made people think our days as a guild were over. But on skype we still worked, and prepared for the second phase of our plan.
We began the thing we had been working on for months; the seduction of various guild leaders across the server. My personal target was [removed], of [removed]. I was pretty confident in my ability to seduce him, but the biggest problem was simply talking to him. I had to get him to notice me first. I spent day and night tracking him down, following him, figuring out his daily routine. Finally one day I was ready. I times it perfectly when I knew he would be coming back from eating dinner (he would talk to his guild where everyone could see it after they ran missions, and he usually came back from eating around the same time). I opened up a party for an elite sulfur spider mission (I also knew he was looking for an enchant from there), and he joined. One thing led to another, and I knew he was in my grasp.
Now at this point you're probably wondering, what the hell is the actual plan? What does any of this have to do with becoming the one true guild of Alexina? Allow me to explain. After seducing the leader, we would get ourselves brought into the guild in either an officer or senior member position. The next part is where it starts to get shady. We were in contact with a hacker group, and would use them to get into the facebook accounts of the guild leaders and their real life friends/family. When the leader's premium service was close to running out, the hackers would go to work, causing family drama. The guild leader has no choice but to go on hiatus to deal with the drama, then entrusting the leadership of the guild (for a short time of course) to us. As the new guild leader we would remove everyone from the guild, add an alt character to make leader (to ensure that the guild was not easily remade), and rejoin our true home.
So how did we fail? Why are the old guilds still around but we are the ones who aren't? There was one true hitch in our plans; one guild that we could not see a way in. Valencia. Even their normal members were more inaccessible than any other leader. They were too strong, and too exclusive to even begin to seduce. We figured there was only one way we could reach them; since they were so exclusive in game, we had to attract their attention in the real world. This task was left to our Glorious Leader, who started a career as a singer-songwriter and gained international fame. Surely such a person couldn't be ignored? Unfortunately, the fame got to him. He left us alone, was off of skype for weeks, and when one of us finally got to him he said he was done. Alone and dejected, we abandoned our plan and went our seperate ways. Many of us left the game, or got new accounts to start over. I no longer speak to anyone from that guild, but sometimes I still think of what might have been.
Bliss.
