Failed to download patch information, help!

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

I'm aware of the fact that there were connectivity issues earlier today, but I do believe that the game is back up with a patch update. Any suggestions? I've already turned off my firewall, and temporary paused my antivirus.

EDIT AGAIN: The issue has resolved itself. I guess it may have been my crappy connection. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions!

have you tried to reinstall the game?
sometimes it's best to do a clean install of mabi, especially when it's been awhile since the last clean install

Reinstalling the client will be my last option. With my crappy internet connection, it takes about ~1 hr for the initial download, and who knows how long for all the patch updates. I also had many issues with installing Mabi for the first time on this Windows 8 laptop, and I would hate to deal with them again.

yeah i get what you mean, but as i said mabi is really finicky and likes clean installs from newer clients than patching an old one

I found a copy of the mabinogi installer lying around in a folder on my desktop. I just renamed my original mabinogi folder and then proceeded to install it. Unfortunately, the same error comes up, and can not even began to patch update.

Opps. I just derped out there.

I'm going to download the new one now, thanks.

EDIT:
Finally got the new client installed. Unfortunately, it's the same error again.

I'll wait till tomorrow and see if it will update.

I get this. All the time. Only way I can update is to do it manually.
