Fighter Armor

  Martial Arts doesn't have any set effects so the equipment itself doesn't matter. Heavy Armor reduces the damage output of your highest hitting skills; I would rule it out. Duelist and Sparring are martial arts related enchants, though your access to them my vary. Not to mention, their usefulness is limited to chain skills.
  
  Gamyu Wizard Robes are notable for having access to both Encore and Champion, which gives them they highest potential damage despite the massive difficulty/costs involved.

  Aside from the Languhiris Chaser Armor (which is definitely not worth it), you've got a few sets here and there which provide some sort of negligible bonus.
  
  The Chinese Dragon Armor set provides set an Attack Speed set effect which could allow you to make a hybrid fighter/gunner set.
  
  Otherwise, just go with whatever looks the best or has the most durability.

  Attack speed buff only applies for weapons with the "Slow" weapon speed. It Goes from Slow to Normal Speed.
  
  
  You can't have attack speed + with a very fast, fast, or even normal weapon.

  This is so wrong. Try using Dowra's with Attack speed status effect and without, there's an obvious difference.
  
  And like Kaeporo said attack speed is a fairly useful effect. However I only find it noticeably useful with Gunner, which you can make an easy attack speed effect set with Enchants like automatic + High roll hawk/ viscount which will probably cost less and not restrict you to using the CD Armor set.
  
  If you just want an easy cheap damage piece that is light armor, the Prairie Dragon raid drops a Linen Curiass with the enchant "Pitch Black" (5-15 max damage) on it, downside is it takes away 5 will (- 1.66 damage). But a high roll pitch black I think would make up for it considering how cheap it is, you can put something easy like "Special" on it and you have a good enough damage piece.
