Hello Community,
I've been browsing the forums a lot and found some great guides as a beginner/newbie.
The only thing I'm missing or can't find is a warrior equipment guide. At the moment I still have some beginner stuff, I also bought 2 fomor battle swords because they looked good.
I also would like too know how I should upgrade my weapons and armor.
Like I said I'm a beginner. My accumulative level is around 140.
Feel free too post if you have any advice, or if there is a good guide for this.

Very quick before I fall asleep, rank windmill and get some easy max damage enchants from Alby. Fox is kinda good if you're lucky to get max roll.
Good night.
More people will help don't worry.
Also welcome to Nation and Mabi :D

Fomor weapons are nice for beginners since they have notably increased stats.
(They can't take upgrade stones so you'll /eventually/ transition to other things, but that's a while off.)
Generally people upgrade for max damage (ignoring min) due to the balance stat and the way it works. Balance caps at 80% which means your damage falls 80% of the way between your min and max. So an improvement to min damage only adds 20% of itself to your average damage while an improvement to max damage adds 80% of itself to your average damage, assuming 80% balance. If you don't have 80% balance while holding two swords, your sword mastery and combat mastery skills will get you there in a few more ranks or so. Outside of max damage, crit chance upgrades are aimed for too.
An artisan upgrade is often chosen as the final one by high-level players, but some weapons can have penalties on bad rolls. (The battle swords for example can give you up to -40 dex each in exchange for really high strength and luck increases). Unless you're willing to spend NX on artisan upgrade removal/reroll kits, I'd avoid artisans that can give a stat penalty.
Most people only do armor upgrades in specific situations nowadays, for two reasons.
1 - When you upgrade armor, it locks to you. You cannot sell/trade it normally after that, it's bound to that character.
2 - Upgrading your armor mastery skill will get you a lot more in the long run than the armor itself.

As for beginner weapons, out of fomor weapons, falcata would be a better choice for a couple reasons.
1. Gives you better balance, something you'll need.
2. No need for artisan upgrade.
Now if you did have enough money... pair of beam swords would be the better choice as they'll just outdamage both fomor battles and falcatas (but not regular ones!). The beam swords will only prove to be remotely useful until you hit level 1k ish, and the repair cost is on the higher side.

At Rydian
Thanks for the info, I didn't know balance worked that way. I'll remember too try and increase max damage as much as possible.
At Ironwoman
I'll give the Falcata a look. Don't have much ducats at the moment, but that will come :)
I also don't have enough money for the beam swords..
Could someone tell me why "Normal" swords out-damage regular ones?
If it has too do something with upgrading, I tried searching for an upgrade guide but also couldn't find any. I saw a guide about upgrading but didn't really understand what they meant.

Here's two guides I found useful in the past. They both have melee/warrior sections.

Forgive me for i never finished that guide. Perhaps eventually I will get up the motivation to finish it...

I'm assuming you're referring to regular equipment vs. fomor equipment. Fomor equipment have a starting advantage of more base durability and base attack power than normal weapons do. However, they do not have the growth potential in upgrades that normal weapons do. If you look on your weapon spec's, you'll notice that both a fomor weapon and a normal weapon have the ability to be upgraded 5 times. However, the fomor weapon can not be upgraded passed that. A normal weapon can be both gem upgraded and special upgraded after the first five upgrades, and it will outperform a fomor weapon once thats been done.
However, like Rydian said, you probably won't have to look into that for a while.

http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Special_Upgrade
Special upgrades can add more raw damage than pretty much any normal upgrades with blue stones, and add a higher damage multiplier for critical hits with red stones.
But special upgrading weapons is costly and can take a while to get all the materials to successfully special upgrade them more than just 1-2 ranks or so (and need weapons to have full normal+gem upgrades done already anyways), so special upgrades are generally an "endgame" thing.
Fomor Falcatas are awesome, but yeah they're 100K ducats
each and have a higher repair cost as well so I didn't mention them because they're not that feasible for newer players.

Special upgrades on regular weapons allow you to have more multiplier, but this really isn't worth on swords.
Like others said, you probably won't go into special upgrade for awhile, and only thing melee that you need to worry about special upgrading is lance.

Thanks for all the info. So what I can get from this, is that upgrades are actually more important then the weapon itself.
I found a guide for my Gladius I have atm for upgrading:
wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Gladius
Is the upgrade sequence still up to date?

Yes, it's up to date, since upgrades have never changed.
Only problem is that Gladius is a terrible weapon. Alright base stats, terrible upgrades. Back when special upgrades first came out, this was the weapon you get for beginners with blue upgrades because of high balance. Now that balance is easier to get during early levels, Gladius isn't even decent anymore.
You're better off upgrading broadswords, since they're cheap, and still have ok balance, especially with sword mastery. The best swords to use without special upgrading that is not a fomor weapon or beam sword, would be war sword.
