Melee Elf?

Cause Melee works pretty darn well, when in the right position?

Helps control AI, and Melee is more fun than Ranged Spam.

Having Smash along with the other Melee skills actually makes Melee Elves very viable, so why not?

Plus they can wield shields too and have access to low Balance Melee weapons earlier, making Melee Elves even more viable.

Wouldn't quite be a melee elf then. Range elves who use some melee are decent. An elf who jumps straight into melee will just have the skills to fight well, but not the equipment, which makes just as big a difference as skill ranks in Mabi ; ;

Because Elves have the speed to hit and run, despite their lack of damage in comparison to Humans or Giants.

They're quick and that'd a definite advantage.

An Elf who has high rank Melee skills doesn't make it a Melee Elf either.

Ranged Elves with r1 Windmill and Combat Mastery, for example.

Skill ranks doesn't make a definite Melee Elf. It's usually the equipment that defines a player's role more than skills. You can't say "I'm a Melee Elf because I have r1 Melee skills" but mainly equip and use two bows.

Another example: you have a lot of r1 Life skills, but have a preference of fighting with your r5 Ranged. Does that make you a Life skill person?

Skill ranks are important for obvious reasons, but, in mid or late-game, doesn't define a player's role as much as equipment does (or enchants for that matter).
