The Mexican Island Haunted by Evil Dolls

  Basically it's an abandon island with a bunch of creepy dolls hung all over the place
  I've heard stories from my parent's (they were born in Mexico) saying that anybody that has ever went there was never heard from again they said that they were turned into dolls but I always though that was just bs
  
  here's and account of someones death that is supposedly related to the dolls.
  

  
  On April 21st 2001, Julian and his nephew, Anastasio were fishing on the island. Julian told his nephew that strange voices had been calling out to him from the waters of the canals, beckoning him to enter the water and join them. He explained that he had often heard weird voices, but had always been able to resist their calls. The two men carried on fishing together until Anastasio left to undertake some errands. When he returned he discovered his uncle floating face down in the canal near the small pier – at the same place that the girl had lost her life in the 1920s. Had the eighty-year-old finally submitted to the otherworldly voices and given himself up to the deathly grip of the ancient waters, never to emerge?

  they made a show where they probed the place for spirits they where able to catch one of the dolls eyes opening and closing on it's own

  Sounds like a ghost story parents tell to their kids to keep them in order: "If you keep misbehaving, I'll drop you off on that island with those dolls, and I'll come back after a week to see if you turned into a doll yet." Just seeing a doll open and close it's eyes by itself is nothing. There are dolls out there that do so already, and all it takes is a change in angle, easily done by wind or air moving from people moving in and about the place.
  
  Of course, it could also be Alice got bored in Gensokyo and decided to tease Mexicans by having a bunch of dolls hang around and move to scare them away.

  Bet nothing will happen at first, and then everyone that's a Touhou fan will, out of boredom, look for a blond tsundere girl, while everyone else will probably do nothing except maybe have doll fights or something.

  I'm sort of curious about the island though. Why are the dolls there?
