Hey everyone, I had a question about the sims series. I've heard about them for years, seen pictures and whatnot but have only played it for like an hour. But, that was when I was 10 and I barely remember it. What's the game really like? Is it pretty good and interesting to play?

you'd be better off playing it and trying it yourself
if you have a laptop, you might have a demo for "the sims 2: life stories" or something, try that

its fun if you dont cheat your way tbh, every time i play i dont spend more than 5 minutes, if you play seriously and earn money and whatnot it can be interesting..

I still play actively. I have all of Sims 1 and 2, not 3 on PC. I've been logging upteen sleepless hours on Sims 2.
I only use cheats under certain situation. (For instance, more control over what I build and play). I play with a lot of modded items, and often spend hours building a single house. If you're a sand-box game player, even if you don't like controlling the sims themselves and having to play a god to help them live and prosper, it's awesome for house and structure creation.
Sims 3 wouldn't be bad to try (Steam sale's currently going on!), and if you like it, get Pets!
