I feel overwhelmed, I have always 3 weeked rebirth, I used to love buying cards to 1 week rebirth, I just barely see the fun in Mabinogi anymore, i'm only level 3k but it still makes no sence to me why people above 3k want to rebirth weekly, there is no point because why even rebirth when you can get gold and buy OP reforges to do op damage, the game has transformed into just a cash shop game and I just don't get the fun from playing anymore... post below if you feel the same way.
Honestly the only thing I feel like doing is buying Reforges that have op ele reforges and see how funny and insane my damage can get.
My Mabinogi interest level died at age 16 IRL, was fun tell now lol, maybe ill play more when Ninja comes out or if I make some Mabi gold.
AND THEN THE REBIRTH POTION COMES ALONG -- MAKES NO SENCE LOL!

The rebirth potion is for fun and those who get to lvl 100/25 in a day. or their "plateau"
Also , I'm lvl 7.6k and I have much much more to learn, grow and gain. I try not to rely on reforges. I'm glad the game is a little bit out of the hands of the pay2win crowd

Well you don't *have* to rebirth weekly. You can just wait as long as you wish before you do your rebirth. You'll be late compared to other people, but if you prefer to wait a full 3 weeks, no one's stopping you.

Think I'll rebirth when I'm 100/25, even if it takes longer than a week.
We all got lives to take care of, just because we can rebirth every week doesn't mean we'll lose it if we don't

Pretty much that. Just because its there, don't feel like you need to do it. Think about it this way. Now you can rebirth whenever you want instead of needing to wait 3 weeks to free rebirth.

Yup, it's best to play at your own pace. Though it is nice to be able to keep on getting stronger at a steady pace without having to cough up dosh for a card, yeah? (Though I'm already level 13k, run out of things to spend ap on so I'm working on getting 'The Old' title ahahah) :skip:

I remember back when the game first started, I was such a title hoarder that when I saw the requirements for "The Old" I went "Challenge Accepted." By the time I got it, 3-week freebirths had already been implemented. I regret nothing. To this day, if there's a title, I want it.

And then when you're trying to level, people whine about you being antisocial or rude. Can't win ^_^

Well there's really not much of a point in buying reforges for the sake of doing "op damage" unless you have the stats to back it up in the end.
Capping stats is literally the main point of rebirthing. To me, anyways.
What good is an ele 6 bow to a person who has 300 dex and never wants to raise it, right?

Exactly, but I have seen screenshots of someone doing a 10k crit with the same bow, and then they use a magnum/ele reforge and does well over 100k crit.
I still enjoy playing and i'm glad that weekly RB/daily rb gives players that fell behind a chance to level up, it just feels like Nexon is going to make Mabinogi die fast because everyone is going to acheive end game status very fast, I just really don't want the time I put in this game to disapeer.
Ninja update looks fun, I have well over 1k AP saved up for it with stats to back it up so that will seem fun, I just hope Mabinogi KR turns Mabinogi in a new direction that will attract new players and add many new players in the future, possibly better servers, and this will transition in NA servers.

There are way more people who are struggling with this game than those who aren't. The introduction of free weekly rebirths actually brought back some old players. It is already a new attraction.
The people who actually want to achieve end-game status for maximum damage output and efficiency actually make up a very small amount of the playerbase.
Not sure how you got 10k-->100k unless you're just talking about a clean bow vs. a reforged one. In any case, you can't spike from a 10k magnum all the way to a 100k magnum with JUST an ele bow or a 20 magnum shot damage glove. You would have to have things such as buffs, a good BFO %, a combo card, a fully enchanted/reforged bohemian set, reforged accessories, capped dex, and possibly a bhafel hunter+huntress set. VERY few players have achieved all of these things.
Anyways, again, the "serious end-game" players only make up a small amount of the population, and in no way is Mabinogi going to "die" out from weekly rebirths. The players who have already achieved end-game status eventually have nothing left to amuse them, but that happens for almost all MMOs. Since you're 3k, there is still plenty for you to do.

This actually has the opposite effect - more casual players are attracted to the game as now you can make meaningful amount of progress three times faster. The allure of this game has always been character development and with weekly rebirths facilitating growth paces, you can expect to see more people sticking around for longer.
Also, NA profits have been fucking flat-line for the last three consecutive years so collectively, Nexon games have neither declined nor increased but maintained their popularity. There may be a shift towards fewer people paying more or a shift towards a larger player-base wherein more people spend but in smaller amounts. Whatever the case, Nexon NA isn't going to can anything soon.
Also...

Having this mentality is the wrong way to go with any game (unless you're an actual pro who makes money off gaming shit in which case my hat goes off to you).

I agree, all this does is make the game less pay-to-win, since we always could have done weekly rebirths if we were all rich people with butlers who rank our skills for us in our sleep and butlers who train your butler partners with their quests while wearing a butler outfit on your character and addressing everyone as "Sir" or "Madam".
...Now I wonder if there's anyone who actually does that in any games.
I met one girl who said they were a rich 8-yr old, but then I felt they were lying when they mentioned some orphanage crimes(sexual cannibalism) and recent deadly explosion there, which were never on the news.
Not to mention selling the outfit she really loved in order to make gold...

As a casual player, I'm very pleased with weekly freebirths. Rough estimate: maxing out every skill I want to max will take me 2 years instead of 5 and who knows how much more content will Mabinogi have by that time.
