"The contraceptive coverage requirement was challenged by two corporations whose owners say they try to run their businesses on Christian principles: Hobby Lobby, a chain of crafts stores, and Conestoga Wood Specialties, which makes wood cabinets. The requirement has also been challenged in 50 other cases, according to the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which represented Hobby Lobby."
"The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that requiring family-owned corporations to pay for insurance coverage for contraception under the Affordable Care Act violated a federal law protecting religious freedom."
That's right, employers no longer have any obligation to provide contraception insurance for their employees because it hurts their religion feelings. This means that thousands of middle and low class people will now have to choose: Never have sex, or spend your food money on condoms this month, or risk having babies you don't want and can't afford.

Condoms are cheap, it's really not a big deal. Plan B is bit more expensive, but it's not something you're supposed to take regularly. If you do, then you have a bigger problem.
The idea of having insurance pay for something that you regularly consume is pretty stupid, anyway. Sounds to me like one of those things that got in there for political reasons, rather than common sense.
It'll make Tumblr-feminists rage, but other than that, it'll have no real impact.

I don't think insurance should be covering this stuff anyways, the only exception being non-abusive abortions (non-abusive meaning that little whore teenager who got knocked up 10 times and had 10 abortions can go fuck herself).
Also, condoms are free in lots of places, more to try and prevent STDs in the younger population.

birth control is used for hormone imbalance quite often and is sometimes a necessity
condoms are available for free in almost every health clinic

Look this up a bit and found out Hobby Lobby actually DOES willingly provide for 16 different types of contraception. The only type they don't want to pay for are after-the-fact, "morning after" abortion pills. If you really want those, there's nothing stopping you from buying them yourself over-the-counter. I just think that people who are "mad as hell" about yesterday's decision should consider all the real facts before going overboard

Birth control has myriads of great benefits outside of birth control. You should look it up.
Also, both birth control and condoms arent perfect. A double layer of protection is something anyone would want to have.

Oh and another thing is Hobby Lobby is actually a really generous company, they give to charities often and pay 90% above the minimum wage to entry level workers. Hold your torches and pitchforks, people.

Hey, it's not like I don't know anything about girls. :( The regular pills are covered, AFAIK, but Plan B isn't. And Plan B is pretty harmful to you; it's meant to be used for emergencies. And even then, the other issue remains: It's pointless to cover something that most people have to buy all the time. It would be like having insurance pay for your gas fillups--it just means it gets subsidized by those who don't use it and then there's administrative/corporate overhead on top of it.

lol
Honestly, whether that money vanishes from the employees' wages before or after it's printed onto a paycheck is completely irrelevant. This is a zero sum game with no losers or winners. Well not on a scale that should bother governments anyway.
Never even heard about this concept of a contraception insurance until now.
It's mind-boggling that this was ruled as it is with the reasons provided though. The US is steadily deteriorating.
