Eletricity Shutdown

  So tomorrow my apartment has to replace this transformer or something and during that time the apartment won't have any electricity.

  You can certainly do that. If you don't feel like doing it or don't know how, you should unplug all your electronics just in case.

  You could suffer an accidental power surge. If that happens, the circuit breaker should trigger and shunt the power flux. However, a lot of these new circuit breakers and fuses aren't fast enough to catch errant charges when capacitors discharge so you may still suffer some damage. Worst case scenario it bypasses your fault protection subsystem, destroys it, or both. I'll assume that your place was built within the last 20~30 years; it should have a decent connection to ground.

  I think turning off a circuit breaker is easy enough not to risk anything.
