"No, no! Not like that! Concentrate Harder!"
I'm at that one part of Master Tin's training where he wants you to go Ice Bolt -> Counterattack -> Ice Bolt -> Counterattack, but every time I get to the counterattack part the dummies just keep trying to step toward me, only to glitch out and continue doing that while staying in one place. Because of that, I can't counterattack. Is there anything I can do to get past this? I can counterattack if I get up in their face, but it usually doesn't work.

This is the reason why many newer players quit trying this game. This "lag-dancing" glitch usually resolves itself after a server maintenance, but you can try doing the tutorial on a different channel and see how that works. If not, the tutorial is still possible, but just a bit harder. Whenever you knock the dummy down, notice how it walks up a few steps before glitching. Take advantage of that, and move to that spot and load counter before it gets there.

Changing channels worked, thank you a bunch! It was such a relief to get that out of the way.

If you can't get past the tutorial, I don't see how any newer people would stick to the game, although that's just my assumption.
