Whenever I go play on any of my alts (with the exception of one character) I get some frame skipping lag. My main is fluid all the time. I'll make a video tonight.
Any idea why?
Should probably in the Ferghus section, feel free to move.

Do your alts have a lot of uncompleted quests? Like event quests, beginner quests, etc..

This, I had the same exact problem, Just turn off that quest "Pointer" thing.

If it's that simple then it's also very stupidly weird.
I'll try that after work.

If you have too many quests you probably end up having small spikes of lag every 5 seconds or so. Happens to me on my alts also.

Huh, I've had this problem too. Interesting... I'll try this fix myself as well.

Each quest is actually an item in a hidden inventory (as is some other things like your hair, face, eyes, etc). The more filled inventory slots you have, the more you lag.

Then in that case, why does turning it off reduces lag?

Turning it off removes one source of lag.

I've always wondered about this. That does make sense.
However, I have a second character I play on almost as much as main, with not that many quests, at least not more than are in my main's quest log, but I crash a lot when I play on the second character, especially when entering the shadow realm, and I hardly ever crash on my main character. That does strike me as odd.

I have no proof of this and I never asked for it when people told me, but people have always told me the more shadow missions you enter without restarting the client increases the likelihood that you will crash. Do you crash upon entering a mission for the first time or after the second third or fourth mission?

I usually have played on my main for a bit, and did both dailies in the shadow realm, yes. Then I log onto my second character who is on the same account, and I usually crash upon loading into the shadow realm then, when I do crash. So that theory does make sense. Perhaps I will just restart the client when I switch characters to see if that does anything for me then.
But I never crash on my main, even when I go on a skill training spree in the shadow realm, and I do about 15 shadow realm missions in a row.
