I feel like ffxiv is pretty generic in its gameplay. Its got a pretty art style and some nice world design. Questing is really just the standard old mmo fair that just isn't fun. Combat is also nothing new. You aren't missing much if you can't afford it. Guild wars 2 is a fun ride so I'ma have to throw my hand up for that as well.

GW2 combat is boring. The world and music is beautiful but besides that it doesn't have much to offer in my opinion. FFXIV does have like a "Standard" MMO gameplay but a bunch of things about it make it fun. First time around I was really bored with it, but running dungeons with friends is honestly really fun and you have to do different things for every miniboss/boss.
I also agree that FFXIV has more traditional MMO gameplay but it feels like a more updated game with modern features that make it an amazing game. The story is pretty good for the game and it can also be difficult at times and makes sure you have a strategy going into certain dungeons. GW2 combat I also agree is boring, having the same skills per weapon just wasn't that fun.

The crafting is really fun and different too, which I forgot to mention. It kind of reminds me of Mabinogi, where you can be any class you want and you can take up as many gathering/crafting jobs as well. It's not as "free" as Mabinogi, as you have to change classes by equipping a different main weapon but that doesn't make it not fun!
Guild Wars 2 bored me after awhile because of the fact that you couldn't switch your main skills up... You were literally stuck with whatever you were equipped with which really got me mad. Also since everything was like sync'd up and everyone kinda of did the same damage it was really difficult to like see progression in that game.

Honestly, I could recommend you a game but I would say don't.
It's not worth it.

I'd go with either GW2 or FF14.
Both have pretty lacking combat though. It's really boring.
What you're really getting is an incredibly polished world with amazing visuals, music, and style. Great exploration from both games.

MMO with great combats are Dragon Nest, Vindictus, Dungeon Fighter Online and Elsword.

I thought the same until I had to try to figure out how to clear Titan HM with a party of randoms. The combat system puts a massive emphasis on strategy and near-perfect party coordination. It made for much,
much more exciting combat than I expected from the game.

Except that if one person messes up, it implodes. (in one particular fight)

But then

This.
FF14 is far too reliant on team coordination. One person's mistake costs the whole fight. It's very nice of Squeenix to minimize punishment of party wipes on boss fights, but even a quick retry felt dragged out as the game progressed, since fights started getting longer and longer.
It's certainly a lot of tension and fun, but relying on other people to do their part perfectly is something I'm having a very hard time getting used to.

I think the new host for DFO and Elsword guys are ok, are they not? I think Nexon is going to improve, 4 year deficit, shareholders must be putting on the pressure for them to do better.

Maybe.

If DFO is successful, it would be a huge blow to Nexon's face, since they dropped the game after proclaiming that it was the lack of interest at fault and not their own mistakes that killed it. Could be a good wake up call.
