So the other day my friend asked me if I wanted to trade for my bellfox outfit. I said yes because I wanted to be nice. Today while I was walking around in ch1 I see him trying to sell the bellfox. Yes it's now his, but why would he rip off a friend to make money? I'm contemplating whether or not I should say something to him.

Why do I always get fucked over by people I trust?

I don't see how this is "fucking you over" per say
Maybe he liked it and got bored of it and decided to sell it, either way you shouldn't get upset when it's now his item to sell.

I did overreact. I just thought it was weird how I sold it to him just yesterday and now he's selling it. =/

Guy's got the right to be upset, assuming he traded the item to his "friend" at below market value as a kind gesture.
For said "friend" to capitalize on this by then selling it at market value is a pretty lame move.

If my friends give me something, I keep it for quite a while before I sell it, unless I tell them first that I'm taking it in exchange for money. If they're bothered by it, like in a few situations, they asked if I could hold on to it as a temporary payment until they could make money, I just told them to keep it, and pay me later. I don't think I'd ever like to be on either side in this situation.

Of course, the longer you wait, the more acceptable it is. It's all about the gesture.

One of my friends gave me something i really needed. We had a falling out a year later, demanded it back.
I said i don't sell nor give back gifts under any circumstances. It's not my style, because i would be damn pissed if someone did that to me.

Hey, I like my large ribbon and adv succy boots!
Though, I will agree with the op on this one. It would have been better if he waited a while at the very least to sell it.[/FONT]

Well, if he really was your friend, you really wouldn't have to think about talking to him about it, but would just come out and say what you were thinking about it. Obviously, you don't have to be a dick about it, snapping at him and showing that you're angry, but you could just say "Really?", and he should understand why you would be upset.

That sounds rude of him, IMO.
I could never sell anything a friend gave me, I'm pretty sure I still have a useless pink bandana stashed in the bank a friend me gave in open beta <3
I think the right thing for him to have done, if he didn't want the item anymore, is to give it back to you, or ask you before selling it.
Like Arse.ik said, just talk to him? If you are friends, that shouldn't be difficult.

I still have the pretty Dragon Blade I got from Peaca when it came out so many years ago. :D Cleared it with my friends, who jokingly said they'd kick my ass if I sold it for $$$.

Don't forget that we're talking about a video game here. Some people may not think very much of the value of in game items, so he may not think it is a big deal to try to sell a virtual item someone else traded in for him, because he may not be aware that it actually means somehing to the giver with his different mindset. Perhaps this is the case here.
