Bioshock is probably my top 3 favorite story based singleplayer fps game. It is an incredible game and it's become a huge part of gaming culture. I have two extra keys and all my friends have either already played it or don't have a computer that can run it. I want to share this incredible franchise and spread around some bioshock love, so I'll be giving away a free key to a random person that replies within the next hour.
I just want you to NOT put these keys to waste. Promise me that you will actually play it rather than letting it dust in a backlog, and that you've made sure your computer can run it.

I could go for the 2nd one
I have bio shock and bioshock infinite I'm just waiting on my graphic's card to come in so I can actually play all of the games I recently purchased because this laptop can't handle their greatness

I would* like to try the games
My PC can run skyrim and tomb raider 2013 so hopefully it can run these if you would be willing to even let me have even one steam key

I'm not really one of you guys but I found this thread and I decided I need at least try since I'm the big fan of Bioshock franchise
I remember I spent hours on BS 1 and 2, also have read Bioshock: Rapture, also I'm a member of polish fan community bioshock.com.pl (which is sadly almost dead right now ;( )
Recently I haven't got any extra cash to spend it on games so I watched Infinite and Burial at Sea gameplays and I need to say-MINDBLOWING. I believe it's the only franchise where there storyline is the most important part of the game, sadly other developers don't see it and just release games with HD graphic and no story behind.
So if you would like to give me BS2 key (Already have BS1) I would be more than grateful and you may be sure that this key won't be wasted by some kid who will play 10 minutes and just get interested with other game series

They're great, not so much on BioShock's 1 gameplay due to 2 and Infinite being better.
Infinite for some reason is hated despite not being that different mechanically from the rest of the BioShock games.

Bioshock 1 = Bioshock Infinite > Bioshock 2
All three games have fairly outdated gameplay, though it's in no way boring. It's most comparable to a more tactical RPG-style Halo.
The first game has one of the most intricate stories i've ever seen in a video game, though the plot is rather linear (big surprise, it's a video game). All three games have the best atmospheres in the market.

I'm not really a pro shooters player so it's only guess but I'm pretty sure that after years there are new, higher, gameplay standards so if something was good few years ago it doesn't mean that players of newer games will still enjoy it.
Other thing is that players expected much more from Infinite. Won't argue about mechanics because as I said, haven't played, only watched the game to see the story but other aspects...To be honest at some point it was disappointing. If you have been watching every single video they released, you were reading every interview and article concerning newest Bioshock and then you played it, you had to notice that it's not quite what you expected. In materials we could see that the game world was open, more interactive and simply full of life and the final product seem a bit static and for sure closed, areas were small, you couldn't just simply go via skyhook to other platforms etc
Some examples

So I guess the very high expectations concerning game world and its mechanics are the main reason why so many people call it overrated

I haven't tried Infinite yet, but this the narrative in Bioshock is probably one of my favorites in video game. It was an incredible story with amazing atmosphere.

WOW! Thanks for that words
What a nice community you have in here. Users of most forums are usually selfish and mean to outsiders so I guess I'll stay around with you
