Hey guys,
So over the course of yesterday and today, my laptop shut down on me three separate times. The first time it shut down, I was running on battery power, but never received a warning about battery levels. I checked the settings, and I had battery level warnings turned on. Several hours later, during usage, my laptop shut out on me a few minutes after I checked its battery level: 34%.
Today, I checked my battery and it read 38%. I decided to use the bathroom immediately after. When I got back to my laptop, it had shutdown. I tried to turn it on, but received no response. I plugged it in, and it turned on. When the desktop loaded up, I checked the battery meter and it read 1% on the battery. I restarted it, leaving it plugged in, and once it rebooted, it read 14%. I let it charge for a bit, and once it reached 30%, I unplugged it. The battery immediately jumped from 30% to 85%. Extremely confused, I allowed the battery to operate for several minutes. It remained at 85%, so I plugged the charger back into the laptop. The battery meter immediately jumped down to 54%. Once I unplugged it, it remained at 54%. Plugging and unplugging had no effect on this number, so I let my computer run for a bit, and the battery seems to be operating normally, with the battery consumption seemingly normal.
Anyone know what's going on?
