I went to log into my email I've been using for the past 5 years, I logged into the bitch yesterday from the same devices over and over again, nothing has changed. I go to confirm my email for a new account I created a few minutes ago. I put in my username and password and click sign in.

"Call us overprotective, but we need to confirm your security information before we can let you continue."

And I was like "Uhh.. okay" and I pressed "send confirmation email to [email][email protected][/email]" which is the email address I used to make my hotmail account a long time ago. It has been inactive for the entire time I've had my hotmail account but I still remember the password so I was like "Okay whatever"

I go to gmail, go to log in

"INVALID EMAIL OR PASSWORD"

So I'm like "Oh shit, maybe I did forget the password" so I go to "recover password" so I could answer some security questions to get it.

Now, I'm pretty pissed. So I go back to hotmail and it tells me I can verify my security information through another email. So I put in my icloud email address connected to my iPhone, I get a confirmation email and then get this page.

AND THEN I HAVE TO HOPE I CAN ACCESS IT DOING THAT BASED OFF OF INFO I PROVIDED FUCKING YEARS AGO AND ALL OF MY ACCOUNTS I CURRENTLY USE ARE CONNECTED TO THAT EMAIL.

I was trying to get into my email and it gave me this "We think someone's using your account" thing, so I'm like ok and it prompts me to enter the last 4 digits of my phone number so they can text me a code to get in.

3 hours later and I haven't gotten anything.
I can't log onto Steam without that email. :(

The security is actually really dumb
Takes 3 seconds to change phone number no verification is even needed to do so

Screw hotmail. I have 5 gmail accounts i alternate and use.

I still have a hotmail account dating all the way back to 1998 or so when I accessed the internet over dialup and wanted to email my grandma.

That same account remains in use to this day.

Though it runs side by side with an email account that I host on my own server, that way there is absolutely no nonsense I have complete control over what it does and does not do.
