I read somewhere that Thoroughbreds and Eagles are free after completing some quests. Do you get cards or whistles? I never gotten a whistle before. Can you name the pets? I also read that they have limitations, such as no inventories. What other limitations are there?
They come in whistle form, not card form. You can still name them like normal, but the disadvantage of whistles over cards is that you can't change their appearance (make their fur lighter, darker, etc, its usually either random or fixed). To my knowledge, besides that their inventory is their only disadvantage.
You only get one whistle for each of the pets per account. You can do the same quests on alts but they won't contain a whistle.
The 7-day Thoroughbred card you start with is something else, and becomes unusable.
For completing all ten episodes of the Saga, you get 100 AP and a Pegasus pet. This on the other hand is per character. So if you have 3 characters on your account, you can get 3 Pegasus (Pegasi?) if you do the Saga on all three characters. (This pet is also a whistle so their coloration will be randomized.)

Will these Pegasus have inventory space as well? If not, would the only reason for having multiple is for the color?
What happens to the 7 day thoroughbred after the 7 days?

the pegasus you get does come with inventory, thats why you can see one person with multiple and also for AoE pet damage.
the thoroughbred after 7 days cant be summoned and sits in your pet list until deleted

Pretty much as TJP121 said. And sorry, I've been saying Pegasus, Perseus is the version from the Saga reward. Check out
this page for more info on it. To my knowledge, these better Saga rewards are still NA-only, I'm assuming you play on the NA server.

Well it's my fault anyway. I knew full well of the hot time and attendance events, yet decided I was not ready to return.
On a side note, what would be the best way to gain exploration exp (safely, without a fire wand and raft)? What would be the best way to train a pet?
Assuming you don't have a decently ranked Firebolt w/ chaincast wand or Thunder, the best, stress-free way to get exploration levels is to do the excavation daily. You can pick it up from Alexina at Qilla Base Camp, then go over to Cor, use the l-rod excavate ten chests (pick up the contents), and have them appraised and restored at Voight. That would easily be 8-10k exploration exp a day just from that.
If you have a chaincast fire wand and a decently ranked Firebolt, you can also add on the hot-air ballooning daily in Zardine and shoot down Ice Wyverns (make sure you have some ice damage resistance if your magic defense aren't high). Getting 51 stars (10 big stars, one small) and completing the quest will net you 13250 extra exploration exp a day.
With a decently ranked Thunder, you can also do the rafting daily which can be found in the La Terra Highlands west of Cor. The quest, which is to get 30 stars (6 big stars) would net you 9k exp. Getting at least 108 kills would net an additional 5400 (from the kills themselves) as well as a potential 5840 (if you turn your stars in for elephant statues at the end of the trip, which you would then give to Voight in Cor).
If you're able to do all three dailies, that's 40k+ exploration exp a day. 5-6 days of doing that would easily get you past exploration level 25 every rebirth.

1. I have a spirit weapon that I barely use , just have one in case of spirit revamp. These past events been barfing up gems so you won't be wasting much money on it.
2. Buying lux from shop or from player, the two bags in general shop one expires the other one doesn't. I think you can also get a small bag from g16.
3.i think you got most of the basic down.
4.no
5. Bone dragon and ice dragon are op, should get them while you still can.

Oh man, I've been too focused with training windmill in the past, magic was almost non existent. The only magic skill I rose was healing. Everything else was either Rank F or novice. Is the level 30 Cap still on with Exploration? I noticed that cap quests were removed.
What would be the cheapest way to obtain dyes? I am a little interested in Fashionogi.

Magic got a lot more useful when they removed mana evaporation, and now with spellwalk and snap cast you see magic being used at random points a lot more often.
Level 30 is the exploration cap now (we don't have the treasure hunter update yet for some reason), and yeah thankfully those quests are gone. The daily quests for ballooning and rafting can get you a lot of exploration EXP so it's easier to get to level 15 or so (where it starts to drop off).
The cheapest way to get normal dyes? Buying from players or NX. But if you want to produce random fixed-color dyes you can buy flashy dyes from people and then use the alchemy synthesis skill to synth them into non-flashy fixed dyes (2 dyes + 1 unknown ore frag + 1 garbage herb = 1 random fixed dye with no expiry timer). A number of people do this now so random colors are generally cheaper than they were before. If you don't want to do that, you can do saga episodes, 3 coupons = 1 semi-random fixed dye from Lorna.

Can you explain more about dye synthesis? How do people make money with those? as you need 2 fixed dyes and other things to make one random fixed dye. Plus the fact that synthesis is not always successful

There was an event a while back that gave you a dye well for your homestead, and could buy a few extra wells if you wanted.
Using the well pulls up a glittering bottle, and using that gives you a random fixed flashy dye with an expiry date; you can still drop these things into the synthesis recipe, so it's basically free dye.

It was 99% for me at rank D , but mind you I have r1 Alchemy Mastery and r1 Transmutation .
-
Rydian wrote on 2014-07-23 21:54
The flashies from the dye wells are randomly generated with a new method (NOT from the hand-picked flashy pool that all the previous ones were from) and so most of them are fucking ugly (yellow to brown, green to brown, puke color to white, white to puke to purple puke), so people will often sell them for like 5-10K each.
And with a base 55% success rate (rank F all alch skills), you can get a number of dyes really cheaply with synthing.

Just a random question, but now that premium cards are gone, where can I find Premium Giant Newbie Wear? What would be a reasonable cost?

I don't think its been possible to get them for a long time now, but if it is, probably by paying Pons to rebirth into an Ace Talent. Just a guess though.
I don't know how much a premium giant outfit would be, but in Ruairi in the past I have sold Premium Elf and Human outfits for 500k~2mil, they are (or were?) actually in high demand here.

Yeah they stopped running premium newbie wear like... two years ago at least?
2012 is the latest of any model of that I've seen.
