I mean, I used to play alot of "operation" as a kid, so looking at all these pictures with holes in their skin makes me go "OMG I WANT SOME TWEASERS AND HAVE SOME FUN!" :llama_ohnoes:
I had so much fun with that boardgame as a kid.

I doubt trypophobia is real.
There are holes every, and unless your scared of certain foods, don't like being near speakers, ect then you don't have it.
If you think you have trypophobia because you saw photoshopped image that was supposed scare you that was the point.

It gets even more interesting when you apply the idea of infesting these holes with insects, worms/maggots or whatever other things you like. I honestly find it fascinating to look at, specially in human body. Or I guess it would be interesting if it started to grow fungus out of those holes too.. I just would like to play with it. ):
Anyway, I personally don't hate it.
There are more videos you can find on youtube if you like.. and others of parasites infecting insects and growing out of them which I guess is a somewhat similar topic.
The fear is real, but it isn't common and usually isn't too excessive even if you have it.

Nononono.
It's not so much an inherent fear as it is an instinctual feeling of repulsion.
...such things definitely bother me.

There's nothing to get. The fear is something that you already know is irrational, so as long as someone claims that they have it you are in a position where you should do your best to respect them, even if they don't really have it.
I have a very specific phobia that doesn't make me afraid, but irrationally disgusted at a certain thing. I know it doesn't make any sense but that doesn't help me suppress the feelings, which is troubling because I recently started work in a lab where I'm in contact with this stuff more often when I was usually able to avoid it day-to-day.
It's gotten to the point where I'm afraid to tell people because the response is usually something like, "You're afraid of that?! Why?!" And then they usually assault me with some of it while constantly repeating, "I don't know what the problem is, I don't know what you're so upset about."

I believe it's not a fear of the holes themselves, it's more of "Whats inside?" imo.

I get an instinctive "repulsion" feeling as well as an instinctive desire to dig my teeth into whatever it is. ...I think that's what repulses me the most. Honestly, I came in here expecting more like bot flies and like parasites.
