Poll-Mabinogi Video Tutorial Series- Should I make one?

  So with the new beginnings patch being released I am seeing that there are more new players than ever before. I was thinking, would it be a good idea for me to create a video tutorial series for mabinogi, covering the basics of mabinogi? I would show stuff like how the rebirth system worked, how to raise your regular and exploration levels, how to do activities like rafting, ballooning, and some of the higher-level activities like martial arts contest.
  
  I have 2 different ideas for how I would do this.
  
  1- Using a new character with no help from my main, playing through and showing people like a lets play.
  Or
  2- Using my main character and running around doing everything, but with all my stuff
  
  I am leaning to number 1, as that way I could show an accurate representation of how Mabinogi works for new players.
  
  So, should I do this, and if I do, how should I do it?
  I personally love written guides more than video ones, but videos can explain so much more, and I see very little informational guides on mabinogi on youtube after a quick search, or at least any recent guides with in-depth information. If needed I can also write up a written complementary guide (with screenshots and stuff) and link the videos in it, might be a good way to do things.

  I think option 1 is better as well. But one question tho, where do you post ur video? as in how you make people to watch it ?

  Great idea! Mabinogi needs more publicity and now is the best time . Go with new char, consider making a giant - new players should be aware of giant supremacy as soon as possible.

  Along with the videos, just tag a written guide along with it or something.
  Some things would definitely need a written one along with it, like gear optimization.
  
  Speaking of this, I'm kind of thinking about doing twitch streaming, where people could see how missions get done, live commentaries about things you should/shouldn't do, bunch of solo plays, or just looking at dumbasses of Mabinogi. Or just tune into my channel for LoL games or w/e, although I doubt I'll stream LoL games regularly.

  Let's plays are a little drawn out when it comes to guides/tutorials and could just lead to rambling. How about consolidating the info you want to present in short bits with annotations/commentary and have links to more detailed info to guides written here or ones you write yourself like what you and iron have said.
  
  As for which stage of the game you'd like to present, I'd also lean towards your first option though showing what options the player has in later stages of the game wouldn't hurt.

  My idea was sort of this, first few episodes would be the basics, how to create your character, how progression worked, how items and stats and skills work, how basic combat works, good goals for the start and things to do to keep from making your character gimped (ie- do not attempt a support class)
  
  From there, I would go through each town or area of the game as I progress through the first 1000 or so levels, giving brief descriptions of their purposes and interesting activities, things people may find useful. Each episode would feature small clips on how my character is progressing. I would top it all off with a comparison of my strength at level 0 to my strength at the end of the first 1000 levels when beginner support cuts off. I could then (perhaps with help, for those talents I do not have mastered on my main) have an short episode for each of the talents in the game at a high level, or at least grouped basics (lance+melee together, for instance)
  
  Not sure if it would be best to create all of the videos up-front then upload, or follow some sort of "upload as I make/edit" schedule.
  Would for sure post the first 2-3 videos here first for review.
  
  As for the written guide, I would do a recap of the episode's important information, and then give more in-depth tips and a FAQ from viewers or just general questions. I could also use it to link to other, in-depth guides if it relates. (with permission of course)
  
  In all, it would be looking at anywhere from 30 to 50 episodes, depending on how I did it I think. It would be a bit long, but if its all searchable and linked throughout the written guide in a way that makes it easy to work with....
  
  I would cut out most of my personal character development in favor of showing what mabinogi had to offer, naturally skipping cut-scenes and storyline to avoid spoilers. My character would be there more for a physical demonstration of how progression works through the game than anything.

  Ooooo yes please! I'm new to mabi and I'm so lost without my friends @___@. And most of the youtube mabi vids don't help at all... I've resorted to scouring this site. You should consider voice over! Makes gaming videos more entertaining :)

  Sorry for the delay people, I started recording with a new headset yesterday, my sister had her wedding so things were a little too chaotic for me to take on the project before now.
  
  How long should I make my videos, 10 minutes? Or less?
  I figured my first video could cover character creation, basic movement, and tutorial quests for skills. It should come up to about 10 minutes.

  What do you mean by voice overs? I am going to be talking through the videos, if that is what you mean. Ill try to be entertaining and make things look interesting.

  Make a side episode explaining small glitches new players might encounter and how to deal with them. Trying to complete the Combat Tutorial using the board next to Duncan is quite frustrating when there is mob lag as some steps involving you needing to counter the enemy wooden doll. Also link to things new players can do if they want to reduce latency (Disable nagle, lower mtu, ping reducing programs).
  
  I think try avoid long videos, you can make them into 5 minute blocks would be good (avoid going over 10~15 for sure). you can always divide videos in Part.1 and Part.2.

  First video is uploading, was sidetracked by school starting up again, I expect to have it posted soonish.
  
  I did not do much editing at all, its more of a rough draft I am posting for suggestions so critique away once it's up in a few minutes!
