  its free to download about 30mbs and pretty fun
  
  id get both vanilla launcher and singularity launcher cuz vanilla can see stuff singularity cant and most people ive found use singularity
  
  also if you RP you might have an easier time getting free lins off people (games currency that is really hard to get for free)
  
  if really need lins if have a mobile device go to http://www.stuffpoints.com/secondlife.php and do the offers where you download free apps all you have to do is get email sent to email (suggest making a new one ) then use that link from mobile device and get a wall with some apps download play them for 20 seconds or beat the tut for me all but one worked ignored the pay to download ones and made 106 lin (enough for a few cheap avatar stuffs)

  also you can drive cars and stuff if you can find any unlocked that allow you in (another good reason to rp a family get a rich one and they might have this stuff already bought and allow you to use it like the one that adopted me)

  I have played SL since 2007, and it's improved so much since then. By improve, I mean there are more possibilities now since creators can do more like upload 3D models for example, and various graphic enhancements.

  Some might hate calling it a "game", but it is a game. Games can be scripted within it, you can drive vehicles, build, well, isn't that kind of like what Minecraft or The Sims is?
  Games don't have to be FPS or whatever. Dress up games are games too. It's technically a metaverse.
  
  Sex is not the only thing to do in it. A lot of people even avoid it altogether and just play SL to hangout with friends, play dress up, build, script, host events, explore, or something. A lot of the "sex" stuff in SL are joke items that people made to be silly, and if you don't like any of that, you can stay in PG-rated areas. Nothing is forcing you to head into an ADULT-rated sex sim.
  
  The quality you see in SL really depends where you are, and who created whatever you're looking at. Obviously if you stay in a newbie area, you'll see lots of newbies and trolls in ugly avatars.
  
  Also, it's way better than IMVU.
  Especially for scripters, creators, and artists. IMVU pretty much steals your profits for themself, while SL lets you keep what you make and not need a subscription to do anything.
  Everywhere on IMVU's website you will see "BUY SUBSCRIPTION NOW IF YOU WANNA DO ANYTHING!", and you can't move around, and nothing is free.
  SL has so many freebies, not only crappy stuff but some well-made stuff depending on the creator.
  
  If it weren't for SL, I would have no money to spend on other games(strict parents), and I wouldn't have 99% of my closest friends.
  My friends are not sex-obsessed weirdos... well they're weirdos in the sense that they are silly, but definitely not creepy. They're like any other gamers/anime fans. I've ended up meeting two of these friends before, and nothing bad happened. You will know when someone is a weirdo or not, and they're in EVERY game.

  You can actually swim with physics if you have some kind of HUD/script for it. I have one called "ZiSwim", and it lets you swim in water, and you can custom set it to swim anywhere too. xD

  1. Your character is neither right or left handed so you can wear/hold anything on either hand, but most people make animations for right-hand.
  
  2. I don't think you can, but the best way to move your camera is with Alt + Click, or left-click on your avatar.

  I played SecondLife once in the past year.
  I had fun dancing and talking with people in this club I went to.
  I even tried to look nice by going to malls that had free stuff that looked decent.
  But other than that, it was pretty boring.
