Dupes, again?

  Give every item their own unique code and the ability to show how many items have the same code. so for example even if two people get the same item from a gacha, the only difference would be their code which is different and on the item each would say "this code is only present once"
  If someone dupe an item, the duped item would end up with the same code as the original and both item would say "This code is present 2 times"
  A duper will always have the original item they duped which will get flagged as a Duped item too and Nexon could just peridiocaly delete all items that have the same code as another item.
  When trading and buying, you would be able to read the mention if this item is unique or duped so if you dont want the item to be deleted by nexon, dont buy those that say are duped.
  
  Not only would this clear up the issue with people duping and selling dupes, they would actually get punished by having their original deleted as well.

  This is how they mass delete duped items on maplestory when they pop up (it's been a while though). This is already what they do. They just don't really care most of the time.

  I don't remember being able to see when I buy items on mabi if the item was duped or not..

  Well not counting that part. I meant each item already has its own unique ID. They would probably never implement something that displays when an item is duped though

  why not, they could atleast prevent deleting items from fair players and outright make duping pointless for rares

  The ability to display if multiple unique IDs of the same item exist is a great idea, but this kind of thing (and more) gets suggested to the maplestory team all the time and they just completely blow everyone off.

  Well in maplestory at least, each meso likely doesn't have its own ID (Though they have in the past, been able to remove illicitly generated meso. They don't do that anymore though. They just hellban accounts and don't touch anything and slowly unban the accounts which is by my guess a method of not making the economy super unstable). Then again, there isn't a check system there. The suggested system would likely not work well on gold, due to the ability to convert it into different things. I suppose if checks receive their own unique IDs and they end up being copied it would be possible to make the checks unusable.
  
  I think Chiyuri was just going for non currency items though

  are they really going to dupe stacks of 1k gold? seem like a really long process to me.
  
  as for the other gold containers..
  give bags their own ID and the moment the game notice there are two bags with the same ID (or cheques) they become unuseble?

  Well, tempering with something that works is generally bad idea, even if you have chance of getting something better.
  It's not only work and effort (mostly costs, since it's the devCAT as developer that would have to do the job), but also quite big risk when you change core element of game. One small mistake and we end up with even more security holes than we have and a chance for huge rollback.
  
  btw, not trying to defend anyone, just trying to show the bigger picture.
