Elf Range still viable?

  I wouldn't want to be Elf since they are only good for range and magic, I already have another character that I quit that has a decent amount of INT that I might pick up.

  That's up to you then. I would much rather be an elf on my main, because they can do the most game breaking thing in the game so far, and that's to use hydra + hide, although that's just my opinion.
  
  I would also like to point out that magic takes a VERY long time, due to the enormous amount of APs required to master it. It's worth mastering though, the damage is amazing.

  It's kind of even for me, but I still lean towards range. I have a 9 piercing lance, so why would I use range over lance a lot of the times? Because it's actually good.

  Just raise the character that has the overall higher stats. Elves are only better at magic by an insignificant margin, while their range shines thanks to highest DPS. Also, contrary to what people say, Elf gunner isn't that bad, you can still have 900+ max with the right set up.

  As a mid-game-ish human ranger that have played Elf before to a certain level as well, I'll say this: Humans do NOT have any form of speed advantage in the important skills, namely magnum shot and crash shot. Both have the same shooting speed, as well as same frame. I know some dumbasses in NX forums say this, but this is a ridiculously widely-believed myth.
  
  That being said, as a player that have ranged for both, I'd go for Elf anyday. Reason I'm playing human is for the ultimate hybriding. Magnum shot revolver is definitely one of my favorite things to do, and Elves do a pretty damn solid job at this compared to humans.

  Elf range is very viable, yes, but you do need to have good equipments to support it as this is a very costly talent. With around 1k dex and 26% bfo self buff my highest crit magnum is 11k. Yeah, I have around 100~150 dex uncollected from life skills and skills from random talents but the damage is not going to increase too much from my current state. I have semi-decent enchants on my items but no reforges. In order to unlock the full potential of elf range, you actually need those crazy fully enchanted bohemian set with fricking 20 magnum damage gloves and shit.
  Personally, I am not that much of a hardcore gamer. Therefore I chose the cheaper route - puppetry. Climatic crash can crit 9k each line on a massive group of enemies :D That's good enough for daily HMs so that's good enough for me. Mabinogi is not all about damage you know ;p

  Incorrect. Only normal attacks; shooting rush, bullet storm, etc aren't guaranteed criticals. Nexon's description on it is wrong.
  
  Anyway, strong or not range is still useful. Just because the skillet seems weak or someone else is out damaging you it doesn't mean you shouldn't stop using it. They're still effective.

  Elfs are still good race wise but they have been getting the short end of the stick alot recently. Now for range it is still worth it but you gotta put forth the effort and gold to make it Whether it be by Reforges,Stats Gains or lastly Max Damage Enchants which greatly influence how much you going to be hitting per Second or every 4 second with Crash shot. Lastly what is your setup your using Enchant wise and bow wise and lastly reforges ?
