grandmaster quest glitch?

I'm currently doing the mage grandmaster quests, and in the first mission (the one where you fight NPCs) I occasionally get this weird event... the NPC I'll be fighting just poofs with black smoke, Lezaro says something about a fighter needing more spirit, and then nothing happens. I have to exit and restart the mission.

It's not time running out since it usually happens in the first 5 minutes or so and the time limit is 90...

It's not all bad since redoing it just gives me more EXP but it's still annoying.

This time the text said "Lezarro: it is my opinion that you should give up" and every monster just went poof. I had over 50 minutes left.

Was this solo or the 4-player one?

I got grandmaster warrior and never saw or heard of this.

In all instances it happened I think it was 4-player (but soloing it).
Not sure if it's relevant but most of the times it happened was when fighting the stronger tier enemies and doing OP skills on them like dual casting fireball or raping them with hailstorm. Almost feels like he doesn't want me doing too much damage.

Oh, I'm on Mari myself, but I'm sure it's the same issue.. when loads of people were on for the start of ninja, I saw mobs randomly poof in black smoke in regular SMs as well, and these missions are basically SMs in terms of function, so I assume it's just you getting hit with that.. It's pretty annoying too 'cause they despawn in locked rooms and force you to exit. ~w~
Reminded me of the olden days before the server upgrade when mobs in dungeons would vanish and drop keys.. 'cept no keys to be dropped this time around. :I Sorry you're having to deal with that.
