i dotn even know hwta to do with teh free reforges i got form hottime
Save it for something you're going to find it useful on. for example, I'm not all that big on the reforging idea of the game, I might get bigger on it later, but because we got what we got, and that included a free commerce reforge, I have decided to get a generation 15 outfit and try to get it up to a high commerce speed reforge if not 20. So I used my fines and am currently trying to get the outfit to R1 reforge before I use my commerce reforge on it to have a chance at the maximum benefit. As to why I decided to use it for this is that there is a lot of money to be made in the commerce business, I already have an elephant and recently acquired a commerce partner, so I was thinking to myself that now that I have those how I should make the max benefit outta em, and it dawned on me to aim for maxing a G15 outfit since with just an alpaca robe running for me and my elephant I can make about 20K gold and 60-80K ducats running wine racks from Tara to Belvast in about 20 min or so going south through Blago, East through Emain and Sen Mage, then North-northeast from Gairech through Dunby and past Cobh to Belvast . Getting max possible transport mount speed outta a G15 outfit I can probably do that run in 10-15 min, adding on to it a max output of March Song and a level 5 Wavesweeper I could proly get to Belvast from Tara in that route 5-10 min tops. Now if I was a stronger player and capable to taking care of myself I'd probably be doing Scathatch runs within a 5-15 minute route and be making zounds more ducats and gold and exp to the point where it's like I wont be having any financial worries in the game ever again, or at least, until I get to the part where I'm going to be dealing with players selling extremely expensive clothing, apparel, or other items that I might want to get for myself or any alts later on, at which point I don't know how runs from Scathatch will benefit me unless it's something like a X2 commerce day where you might be able to get a couple hundred thousand-million ducats a run/day and a couple hundred thousand gold per run/day as well. I mean, according to a couple people, I heard that there was once a commerce event wherein people were making an easy 93m ducat run or 93m ducats in a day. When put in to perspective of the gold you're going to be getting as well, it was pretty much an event that made a lot of poor-modest strong players (who might have an elephant and commerce partner), and a lot of already rich strong players, either flat out wealthy, or even more rich to the point where it practically breaks the economic system despite making all the normal poor or modest players less poor or less modest.
But however, that's what I heard from a player, I don't know for a fact if that actually happened. There might be some bit of hyperbole in the story though, so I cant really say for certain. If there are any older players that can confirm it for me that will be appreciated. Point of the matter is, with the free reforges acquired from the event I think it's a pretty damn good investment going for a G15 outfit and reforging it, granted its based on luck and just how much of a patient player you are, however I think that the overall benefit, just in general and in the case of a surprise commerce event from nexon, I think that going for that is a good idea. However if you already have one that's maxed or near max then this doesn't really apply to you anymore, it also doesn't apply if you are an impatient person, just downright unlucky, or if you feel that you already make a good amount of gold doing normal battle-related stuff and selling dungeon/raid drops or if you're good at doing life tasks and am making armors/clothing/weapons/etc. and selling it. In my opinion I think of those kinds of layouts for acquiring gold as time-consuming and with not as good of a substantial payout compared to commerce. Reason being that you usually only make up to 200K-2.5m+? selling stuff you get from using life skills and whatnot andfor those you have to account for time getting the ingredients/passes, times used to beat the dungeon/raid/make the equipment, the cost of the preparation for those ventures, and the amount times times you failed to acquire your target either by failing creation or getting unlucky with the RNG. With commerce, all you need to do is make sure your equipment is ready in the case of fighting bandits, make sure your commerce partner (if you have one and an elephant as well as mount speed buffs) is also prepared for the trip and that you have some food items, preferably a lot of cheap food items like sliced meat or pecans, to keep your commerce partner happy, and lastly all you need to make sure is that your planned route and transport of choice is capable of getting to the destination while the price remains as it is when you buy the goods as usually you are either going for the highest reward output or near highest and you have to hope the price doesn't drop depending on where that destination is. If you're in a low-mid populated channel where a lot of players just like to hang out, you can usually buy stuff (like me) from Tara and bring it to Belvast and the price usually goes up, if you're in a highly populated channel however that's different so you want to make sure you get there before others for the best possible price as you are usually going to have competitors either going slower/faster/at the same speed as you and some of them might have already have a headstart on the destination so you are going to want to catch up, especially if they are capable players who can go through places like Osna Snail and Corrib Valley fearless, meaning that if you are less capable your best bet is to go around and likewise you really want to be faster or at the same pace so you can make up for the time spent going the longer route.
Plus at the end of the day, as long as you can stand your ground in the merchanting competition in both power and speed and weight efficiency you can get high rewards out of it guaranteed, if that's not the case then you can still get some amount of guaranteed profit, maybe not as much as other options, but still you usually get a decent sum for it to be an okay method for making money through the in-game freeway. Plus not only that but you get quite a bit of luck ranking the mastery and if you also feel you got the expenses from mercantile to rank gold shot that nets you even more luck which will inevitably increase your production rates and capabilities for the life related stuff by tenfold, and not only that but it also allows you to net big luckies off of enemies more often which nets you even more gold to the point where it can be pretty insane how much you'll be making just playing the game regularly to the point where if you wanted, you could just be giving out gold to people like crazy and still have enough to cover you for both your main character/alts and still have extra. So in the end, I think focusing on commerce is a good decision and it's an even better decision to me that I'd use my first couple reforges towards that end as it will inevitably boost my financial standing in the game from being somewhat low-class towards being upper-middle to high class and then at that point, you just simply focusing on ranking everything and essentially "completing" the game for when you get to that point. And then from that point on it's then all a matter of hanging out with friends and helping newer players get acquainted with the game if you dont go out of your way to get em free stuff cause you're just damn wealthy, which while the latter is okay I wouldn't necessarily do that as itll pretty much ruin the game for them if they boost through into the high class very quickly. Anyways, with this I shall end this post as it went too much into detail and on an extreme tangent from what the topic of the article. Sorry for the large post ;P
