New Feature: Auto-Save

  Sometimes when I'm making a thread or a reply to something...I accidentally press the backspace key or refresh key and BAM, I lose my progress
  
  Can an auto save feature get implemented?
  You know, so my stuff is there for a bit and that way I don't lose everything?

  you're denying us a feature that really should be on the forums already
  i've seen plenty of vbulletin forums with this feature, so why not this one?
  
  honestly, at this point, it looks like nobody cares to update these forums and make them friendly or have features

  that ability is built into later versions of vbulletin, so no one's developed a add-on for it as far as I know.
  Since we can't and won't update for a variety of reasons we're not getting this or any of the fancy new features.
  
  If you guys want an update then I will update, but if anyone bitches that there's no gold, no pets/shop or anything like that (basically a plain vanilla forum) I'll just shut down the whole site... we can't have the best of both worlds at once.

  Pets and gold is the only reason this place was able to originally work, since we transferred everyone's from mabiguru. If we hadn't done that no one would have moved over.
  As of today if I removed them it wouldn't change who joins or doesn't join but people will be pissed off regardless. Some people probably only posted as much as they did to get gold to buy pets.

  Would go poof as soon as I disable it/upgrade the forum. Your posts wouldn't be pink anymore (and whatever other font options you have).
  
  Some people might not care, others will be mildly annoyed or inconvenienced, while others would be pissed off.
  
  As a person who likes fiddling around with stuff I'd like very much to upgrade, preferably to xenforo because the new VB sucks dicks, but I'm sure you know how this community is and a big change like that will cause more problems that I have the patience to deal with. Pretty much if it isn't broken don't fix it.

  I will agree with you.
  Xenforo is getting along pretty well, from what I've seen.
  They have it now where you can add in a feature that auto edits your posts to be the style of your choosing.
  It's just, pets aren't a thing on it, I think, so there's that.
  
  Honestly, osay, I'd say do what you feel is best. If you can't get an auto save feature working, then we'll all have to be more careful.
  And if you want people to see what a xenforo board is and what it has to offer, they'll just have to find one themselves and make their own opinion.
  Or maybe, make a poll and see what people think?
  I'm not sure about that.
