Ever since the upgrade Shockwave Flash player has been crashing constantly. Any time a video even appears on my screen whether I'm watching it or not my whole internet window freezes up for ~5 minutes then tells me the plugin has crashed. I tried updating shockwave and flash but that didn't help in the slightest. Now it takes me an hour to watch a 20 minute youtube video because it keeps freezing, and god help me if I need to pause it.
In short, if you watch more than 1 video a day online, do NOT upgrade to 8.1.

Windows 8.1 has nothing to do with Flash. You just screwed up something.
Download the Flash uninstaller and re-install it properly.

Personally, I'd almost always recommend a clean install of the OS.

Well, I looked into it and apparently it's happening to tons of people. 10+ pages of results on Google of people having the same problem, all as soon as they updated to 8.1 and so far no one has any solution that works. I'll try totally reinstalling Flash though, after all nothing else has worked yet.

Were you using IE or something? I know Flash is bundled with IE in Windows 8. I'd just use Firefox or Chrome, though.

Dear god no. Do people actually use IE? I've been using Waterfox for a while now after a friend recommended it. Though I also have Firefox and Chrome on here. All get the same problem.
Uninstalling and reinstalling it didn't help.

chrome has its own built in flash that's never caused me a problem (been using 8 and 8.1 since they released). I'd suggest looking into your graphic drivers, and enable/disable (do the opposite of what's there already) hardware acceleration on your flash settings.

Well, I've been using 8 since it was released, and it worked fine. This didn't start until I updated to 8.1. I already tried that and it didn't work, thanks though.
