Not sure if it's EO 2 Untold or EO Untold 2.
Anyway this is going to be my GOTY unless
Stranger of the Village of the Sword gets localized in the same year

It's an EO2 remake. Much like Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl is a remake of the first game.
I'm guessing it'll be titled Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight of Fafnir in the west. Since the Japanese titles for both of these don't have the "Untold" part in them.
(新・世界樹ã®è¿·å®®2 ファフニールã®é¨Žå£«)
(新・世界樹ã®è¿·å®® ミレニアムã®å°‘女)
They have the word "new" infront of them instead..
I've only played EOU, I'm at like the 6th stratum and its pretty fun/challenging.
The cast in this looks much more interesting than the one in EOU though, pretty excited for this.

Also one thing to point out that the main character is based on the Princess class that's exclusive to Etrian Odyssey 3, and Frederica is based on the gunner class that was exclusive to Etrian Odyssey 2.
If this this pattern continues we'll probably the main character in Etrian Odyssey III's spin-off/remake as an EO IV exclusive class. The possibilities are down to Arcanist, Dancer, Bushi, and Imperial.
But oh man I'm excited for the EOIII spin-off/remake it's my favorite one and the music is fan pooping tastic

More shitty premade characters, yay!
More shitty story mode, yay!
More shitty anime tropes, yay!
No EO5 in sight, yay!
EO5 will probably have a story mode anyways, yay!
EO is dead

As long as it sells, the series is alive. Whether the spirit remains is up for debate.

OH COME ON HAZERI, DON'T HARSH MY MELLOW.
Atlus needs to do something unique, because let's face it if we were given classic mode only it would have been a bland game and probably wouldn't do so well in sales.
I really do understand how you feel, hell when EO V gets announced I wouldn't want it to have premade characters either, but having a 1:1 remake/port would have been dull.

I don't see popularity when judging game. Popularity only lets me discover games sooner.
And I like popular games too. Sleeping Dogs is fantastic, Tomb Raider 2013 was a good (not amazing) game, XCOM is a blast, Radiant History is the best handheld RPG, and Dishonored is one of my favorite stealth games of all time.
And those are just a handful from last gen because I've been criticized for only liking older games which is untrue due to the assumption that I only like older games and will never be satisfied with new ones.

I am more interested to know what games that you hate and everyone else also hate.

Taking place once again in the land of High Lagaard, the opening of the game revolves around Arianna, princess of the Duchy of Caledonia, making her way to Ginnunga, an area made up of mysterious old ruins, for a ceremony that takes place only once a century. When she and her traveling party reach Ginnunga, however, the protagonist’s body is suddenly struck by a strange ailment, one that turns his body grotesque as his eyes go red and his hands and feet harden. What awaits everyone after that is anyone’s guess.

Sands of Destruction
Edit: And I don't hate the games I've talked about on Nation like Half-Life 2, I just don't think they're anything special/good.
