  Magic that can transfer the flow of electrons enough that the electrical output of the wand would target the monster instead of you? Why not just dissolve the atoms of the target? Why not force the air around the target to stop moving, creating miniature vacuums and hyper cold air?

  A firewand has more validity because it relies on matter and not the transfer of it. A strong escape of compressed air -via magic of course - would be enough to keep it off of you. A fire ball would be more of a challenge.
  
  But again, the technology needed for this could be applied directly to the target for more devastating effects. Instant-kill-on-everything-even-end-game-bosses devastating.

  The science in the game is different than the science in real life. Electric magic in Mabinogi is caused by raising the intensity of your own erg (life force) until it is greater than that of the area around your target, then discharging it in the form of electricity. It has nothing to do with electrons and everything to do with polarity.
