So as you may know, carpentry requires you to create fine grade bows which are kind of hard/rare to create and some people say Elven Short Bows have more of a chance to be fine grade but they require more materials than making Short Bows. Since Elvens are more time/money consuming I was wondering if this is actually true or if this is just a rumor?

I think it's a rumour.
Also, get at least a lvl 2 exp plane.

A slow but surefire way to be lazy with Carpentry is to just do Ascon's PTJ for his Fine Firewood over and over and over again. He also gives Fine Firewood for some of the items you have to craft, just craft the specified number, and keep the extra un-used Average/Fine Firewood. Use those for Carpentry Training (Fine into Finest).

The "godly level" bows? If you have an exp 2 plane, there's only one rank (I think it's the first time they pop up as a method of exp gain). I just saved myself the trouble and used a 10 point training seal to bypass them. All other ranks you can finish without getting a godly bow. I'd recommend the same unless you're feeling lucky.

...Based off of what I did, I definitely did get more S ranks with Elven Short Bows, but as Second said, maybe it's just the placebo effect and it's simply a rumor.
