Exciting news from Mars

  I think most of the NASA members are perfectly aware of the "special edition, random x falling over!" humour, having grown up in the generally same cultural circumstances as non-NASA-members.
  They may find it very interesting regardless, but I think that's more because they're proud that we hame come so far as to have extraterrestrial monitoring capabilities that give us the opportunity to witness such a random small incident. And arguably that is in fact fantastic on its own.

  Actually I would like an asteroid impact on Mars. Look at those craters. Wish I could've seen that.
  
  Then again there wouldn't be any cool explosion... but still a badass shockwave.
  
  Also you can actually look at Mars on Google Earth now, I only recently realised that. I knew a lot of probes passed Mars but I didn't think they'd have cartographed the whole planet already with normal photos. Likewise you can take a look at the moon. The polar regions of both are a right and proper bloody mess though.
