I have about 3m in the bank right now. Usually got less though. Most of my gold is usually earned by doing shadow missions, events, and right now all that dungeon spam as well.

I always cave in to spending money on things, so I find it hard to keep gold I have for that long. The highest I've saved up to was about 45m, which was quickly whittled down to ~20m, and after not playing for over a month and coming back, it's at slightly over 10m. I really only buy things for fashion, which is probably why I can keep large sums of money (until I spend it all on some wig or outfit); if I ever tried to make gear I'm sure I'd be broke forever.
Most of my money comes out of selling things when we get free VIP service, otherwise any gold I make from drops/missions/etc goes towards repairs. I don't usually set up shops to sell stuff more regularly because I have so much junk that my entire inventory is filled with bags and I can't buy a liscence haha. (Even then, I sometimes end up with all the bags filled with junk that I keep around.)

Coincidentally, I also have a bit over 3m. My gold's also made from doing the daily shadow missions, Conflict HM spam, weekly MA tournament spam, and the occasional random sale. [S]I think the highest I ever made was 6.5m on my own (during the 30% reforge sale), not including the sale of a dress that cashed in 10m.[/S] Nonetheless, I usually don't earn that much, and the fact that I have 3m right now is simply due to hoarding. It builds up overtime.

I like to sit above 100mil as often as possible, mainly so I can jump on any SUPER OP items that might come out like Fierce Ribbons.
My favorite method of making money is spamming Conflict Hardmode with a Mysterious Robe with the EXP bonus on it. Once you get a group that is really gelling, you can make sssoooo much gold this way, and get a ton of experience too. But as others have said, diversification is the best way to keep a constant stream of money. Don't just focus on a single activity. Buy, sell, look for opportunities, take advantage of events (stock up on stuff you know will be sold for a lot later on, like title coupons or something). There are plenty of ways to make gold in this game.

A little over 8mil. I rarely (if ever) buy anything from player-run shops,so at most I'll probably buy sliced meat when I run out or repair stuff.
Saving up fomor scrolls and getting Lucky Finishes often (along with commerce here and there AND quests) leaves me with plenty gold in the bank.

I tend to carry from 50k-800k in my inventory and occasionally maybe 0 gold - 1m in my bank.
For the most part my money just gradually builds since most of the things I run tend to allow me to profit from repairs.
Never really found "the way" to make money for me so I continue to just slowly develop my character, I do sometimes buy nx but it mainly is for growth; reforges, gachas, ect. So I barely make much money but I can somehow manage to make it appear when I need it, hence I made 2m in 1 day to get the Admin System Card, I think I just sold mag cards for 100k ea. Eventually I'll find a way to make better money cause at the moment money is stalling in terms of how I want to develop my char.

how do players over 4k struggle to make money unless they're instantly pouring it into reforges
I had 11m before I got lucky on gach and bumped that to 30m, but I only had 11m because I'm too casual to take all the free gold the game throws at me
I mean I can make 2m in 2 hours just by doing Giant Sandworm then Desert Dragon, imagine if I did that every day, and then I own dye wells so I pull in 1m every night I'm assed to synth or put up a kiosk, WITHOUT synthing high value dyes

In my prime I had 80m. Currently I usually try to keep at least 1-2m.

You see, I can do many money making methods but I haven't found "the way" that is best for me due to the interference of my personal preferences. And sometimes I don't make the stated amount that everyone else makes...
And this I don't get,"I mean I can make 2m in 2 hours just by doing Giant Sandworm then Desert Dragon" Best I make if I do some raids is about 200k more if I'm lucky with a profitable drop.
And I rarely buy reforges from others

This. Like what? I have like 500k atm but I dont really play that much anymore. I never really grinded anything out in this game so that was probably one of my problems, I have other things I want to do other than grind mabi gold which I find so boring lol.

The "this" was directed at the statement in the following quotations

Honestly, who says blacksmithing isn't profitable?

I'd like to sit above that quota! OP items from gach is what's keeping me from spending my money on reforges.
Conflict looks fun, I don't have a lot of friends that'll continue to spam it with me, so I'll usually make money spamming BFT2 with an alt or 2 depending if any other computers in my house are available. If only I could multiclient lol.
