As we all know, the new raids for Part 2 are actually challenging. (Which makes it feel even harder after devcat giving us years and years of braindead bosses that don't really take too much to beat them.)
So here I'm just going to list out some strategies I've come up with and things I've noticed so far about the raid.
Cromm's Stats:
First things first, his stats.
HP:7,000,000
Defense:8,000
Crit Res:54
Attack:12,014
Crit:30, 150%
Stats from: http://vindictusdb.com/monster?i=7284
As you can see from this, his attack cap is 18k. Anything past that is pointless, so if you are going to put requirements on boats (which I don't personally agree with) try to make them not exceed 18k as a requirement.
Phantom Of Death/Destruction:
This move is used (from my observations) when Cromm reaches at 9 HP bars.
Cromm will leap into the air summoning two clones of himself labeled as "Phantom of Destruction" and "Phantom of Death".
Both of these Phantoms have 10 Health Bars, however they have significantly less health than Cromm does.
My advice would be to team up with your party to kill one at a time to make them die faster.
If you fail to defeat the phantoms in time, Cromm will glow orange and slam back into the stage with a powerful AOE attack. If you can get past the disorienting camera view and time it right however, this move can be avoided with your character's i-frames from dodges. If you fail to destroy them on time, then this attack will take away 50% of your HP for each Phantom that is not destroyed.
*Thank you Zomg for the info, and to EmeraldBlues for confirming!
Do note: Phantoms can use all of Cromm's moves except the moves that have the blue lightning effect. The exceptions are the lightning orbs and his aoe attack to knock away players when he is knocked down to his knees.
Phantoms can be affected by:
Paladin's Petrify attack
Dark Knight's Slowdown
Alchemy Kit: Mercury Trap (Evie)
Active: Clipped Wings (Evie)
Active: Void Star (Scythe Evie)
Freezing attacks (Staff Evie)
Hallucinate (Staff Evie)
Active: Chain Link (Kai)
If you know further moves, please let me know so I can add them. These are the only moves I have included due to me being a Scythe Evie.
Statues:
The most obnoxious move that he does, this attack begins at 8 HP bars, and starting from then he can use both Phantoms, and Statues at the same time which makes it difficult for players in the party.
When Cromm Cruaich activates this attack, he will glow green and spin his staff around and slam it into the ground summoning them. The land on the map in four places. Referencing to the face of a clock, they are at 12, 3, 6, and 9.
When both statues and Phantoms are summoned at the same time, I'd suggest focusing on the Phantoms instead due to the nature of the Phantoms resulting in a map-wide AOE attack.
When there are just statues, they will eventually start lifting the nearest party member to the statue that has charged enough time to use the attack. Pay close attention to the statues, because they change color over time, until the point where they will send out an orb that will hit a player and lift them into the air.
In order to prevent the statues from using this ability, there must be a player attacking or near the statue. Ranged characters should try to stay close to them while attacking (Kraken tentacles come to mind) as they will ignore that they are getting attacked if they are attack from too far away.
Work out a pattern ahead of time with your teammates as to how you will destroy the statues, however the strategy I use during that phase is to keep at least one player on each statue and the rest of the players should team up to help destroy the statues faster. The way I organize it is starting from the statue at the top of the map, and then continuing after destroying it with going in a clockwise order around the map.
Statues can be frozen by:
Paladin's Petrification
Staff Evie Ice attacks
However, they sometimes can still use their skills regardless if there's no players near or attacking them.
This move will be used at 2:30 intervals between each other and you can use knockdown moves to stop him from using it and canceling the attack, so watch out for when he glows green so you can flinch him.
At 5 bars, he will reset the timer and use it as soon as possible and then change the timing from 2:30 -> 2:00
An easy way to keep track of it is with characters like Lann or Sword Vella due to their knockdown skills having a 2:00 cooldown.
*Thank you Cashews!
Cromm Cruaich's Moves:
Dash: Cromm will dash forwards at a high rate of speed 3 times in succession. This move will only hurt you from what I've seen during the beginning, and end of each Dash.
There is a variation of the skill where he will use a dash then place 3 fire circles directly in front of himself that will explode shortly after.
Leap: Cromm will glow blue with electricity and leap into the air, landing with a cross pattern aoe attack that explodes with electricity. This move, if you time it properly, can be avoided if you time when he lands and then you will not be hurt if you dodge into his circle where he lands so you can attack him right away.
As Cromm lands back down from jumping into the air, A Karok can clash this move and leave him open temporarily for party members to attack.
Other moves will be too difficult to describe with text, so diagrams will be made later to help explain those, and existing attacks/abilities that I have posted so far.
Any additional findings, you may post them on this thread if you wish so I can update it and hope to eventually remove "Partial" from the guide's title.
The map:
This is the place we fight the boss.
Green, 8 Pillars around the map.
Blue, the place you can take Water
Gray, the Player(s)
Black, the Boss
Arrow is where we came in.
The Heat Bar/Heat point:
In the battle,
If you are hit by the boss or the Falling Stones the heat point will increase by 25%, these hits are those that you failed to dodge(for Evie are hits that damage shields, for other classes are hits that break the combo) . If you arent hit for 10 seconds, the heat point will decrease until 0% at -1% per second.
Once the heat point reaches 100%, the boss will lock on the player and doing long-distance flame-throw towards him. It cannot be blocked/dodged and XE moves don't have enough invincible length.
The flame will destroy all players and pillars in the direction, so do not stand near a pillar.
The only way you wont get hit is when the boss is at the other side of the map (across the diagonal), the flame isn't long enough to reach. Trans should also save you.
After boss stops flame-throwing, the Heat point will drop to 0%. if the player dies, it resets once revived.
The Pillars:
There are 8 pillars around the map, they hold magic circle on top of the map which stops the falling stones. The magic circle is divided into 8 parts, each supported by a pillar. If the pillar is destroyed, the part of the magic circle is destroyed and more falling stones will drop, making the game harder.
The boss could get invincible and destroy some of the pillars once, players won't get damaged during the period. It happens at start of a full bar HP after 6x HP.
Friendly tip: players whose heat point is near 100%, stay away from the pillars.
The Fire debuff:
Every few minutes the boss will get into a invincible state, the whole screen will glow yellow.
It will give every player a Fire debuff that lasts 4 seconds. It decreases the player’s health depend on the Heat Point and def of the player(high def=lower damage)
0% will not get damage nor lose the combo.
The Heat Point resets after the debuff.
The Gigabomb:
Once you get the notice â€volcanic gigabomb has appearedâ€, you will see a big rock somewhere around the map.
Attacking it will increase the Heat Point. The heat Point will increase based on how much damage you deal. 4LR if crit can make it 0% to 70%.
If it is hit by 100% Heat Point, it will explode and cause huge damage around.
It can be destroyed with 4LR by 2-3 players.
If the Gigabomb isn't destroyed in certain time, the bosses will pick it up and through it on the ground doing whole map AOE, can be dodged by XE skill.
The water:
you can get water from the side. There is only one each time and can be obtained by only one player. Then it regenerates every [sometime, will update].
Use the water as 2nd weapon on the ground, it will change an area white for 5 seconds. Step on the white area will reset the Heat Point.
Friendly tip: assign some players specifically to gigabombs, and let them grab the water. Hit F4 before using to avoid wasting.
The attacks by the boss.
Before the attacks, the LEFT means the left side of the boss.
1 Smash Right Claw: the red area. Boss rises its right claw, the hitbox is the area underneath. This attack can be clashed by Karok (if Karok sees E)
2 Smash right Claw then swing: the red and green area.
2.5 Left claw could mirror the right claw.
3 Smash both claws while charge forward: starts with his left claw, the blue area is the hitbox. If there is a fiona/karok guarding there, it will be like the right side. The key is to standing at the side/back.
4 Flip back and roar, this is the attack like lionotus. The hitbox is around the boss, exclude the head and tail.
5 Fireballs: this move is like beo’s ice.
6 The flame-throw: as said before. 100% Heat Point will trigger it.

First part
Lavasat can barely be damaged in the first part. So do not focus on him.
There are 4 pillars in the first area, which need to be destroyed. Each time a pillar is destroyed, Lavasat will be stunned for a short time. However, do not focus on damaging him, just focus on destroying the pillars.
Since Lavasat will try to kill your party, it may be a good idea to have someone aggro him in the middle, while the rest of the party destroy the pillars.
Second part
Now the second part will be a bit harder. This is what happens:
- Lavasat has 6 armor parts on his back, tail and shoulders. These can be destroyed with Break-off skills, and when an armor part is destroyed, Lavasat will take a lot more damage on that bodypart.
- However, when he recharges himself in the lava, any broken armor pieces are restored. You want to avoid this.
- He will recharge himself every 75-80 seconds, so you can count down and prepare in advance.
Break-off
When all 6 armor shells are broken off, you may receive the rare BO drop that is used to craft the Majest weapons (not 100% guaranteed).
Skills that can BO the armor:
- Massive Impact
- Eagle Eye Assault
- Hand Bomb
- Frostbite
- Reverse Gravity
- Scythe Evie snaps
- Counter Attack
- Lots of smashes
- ?
Avoiding lava recharge
Right before he will recharge himself, Lavasat's body (especially the lower part) will glow red, and he will charge into the lava. When you see the red glow, you need to shoot a hook at his horns, and pull.
(red glow)
Important:
- All the party members should be on the same side of Lavasat when hooking him. If you are hooking on both sides, he'll just run straight and you'll fail to cancel his recharge.
- You need to use your directional keys to pull on the hooks. Just standing still won't work.
- You need to pull on the hook (hold directional keys S). You can also hold pull to the side and backwards (S+D for example).
- This can be done even by 1 party member solo. Having the entire party help will ofcourse make it easier.
Try to hook at a 90° angle from the horn, as seen here:

If you are not positioned correctly, it may fail.

So far, that's all of the info I have gathered. Please correct me if I'm wrong or add any info that you found out. The guide is still incomplete as we haven't figured out all tactics yet.
