Gotta say, this was an interesting ending. Looking forward to the next season in Jan.
Lots of reasons... it's not that silly, lol.
He was interested in him up to the point where he got betrayed and told that they (eg. Inaho) were using the princess for their own gains.
Jealousy.
And you know, the whole thing about a gun being pointed at you when you're a soldier. xP
Not that bad of an ending and I can definitely see why they went the route that they did. Interesting to see how they will start the next season. Do I smell a time skip?
I liked Inaho, and I liked Seylum. I suppose it's only to be expected that the season would end up with both of them being shot in lethal spots, their fate left unknown until the next season next year. Good job Slaine, you did your job of doing stupid things perfectly this episode.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try not to think about the fact that I won't know how Inaho and Seylum are doing for another three months or so.
>At first he doesn't trust anybody and next thing he's way too damn gullible. If anything, shouldn't it be the opposite?
Jealousy.
>That seems to be most convincing one.
And you know, the whole thing about a gun being pointed at you when you're a soldier.
>And that was the borderline bullshit part. As if Inaho gave up and wanted to die at this point. It felt out of character.
I think that it was a bad moment to end it and they decided to do it like that only because second season is already secured. Imagine what would happen if
TTGL had ended right after Kamina's death with "humans have retreated for the time being".

I really liked Inaho but I hope he's dead. He got shot in the head at point-blank range so him being alive would be a huge stretch. The princess should be fine, though. Notice how, whenever assassination and her body double were mentioned, she would start acting kind of suspicious. I mean, she already had superpowers to begin with.

Apparently there is a small chance that a person can survive getting shot in the head and if the author wants to he can pull that card. I mean anything can happen really. Just gotta label it as a "miracle".
Nope, not this author,
Gen Urobuchi. If you seen any of his other works, it seems to be a habit of his.

Episode 12 was titled "Childhood's End". Maybe next season will pick up like several months/years later in the storyline?

Also what the heck was up with the Count's kat?
That was both the laziest and over designed mech I've seen in a while.
Really, spend all that time designing it only to just coincidentally have the abilities of the previous three mechs with the abilities shown in order.
That gettai literally took up more time than it did to destroy it moments later.
But seriously, during the transformations I was like "INAHOW U GONNA BEAT THIS THING?!"

@Qnjo:
It's more that he trusted Orange since he could see that he was actively protecting the princess. He probably thought about joining the terrans after the end of that battle, but instead was literally shot in the back and told that they were just using the princess for their own gains. It was pretty clear that he then changed his mind about the guy.
I don't think him throwing his life away at the end was borderline bullshit. Yes, it was out of character, but he was also half dead and the princess he was in love with (?) and wanted to protect was killed in front of him. The guy finally cracked--it didn't surprise me. I actually liked the way they did it, even though it was rather sad. :(
And yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that he's dead. He had severe internal injuries already, even before getting shot.
@UP: when you put it like that, it actually makes sense. That doesn't change the fact that both Slaine and Inaho have some serious problems with proper communication but I guess this is a plot device in this show.

The Gen Urobuchi posted some stuff on twitter about the ending.
"Aldnoah Zero's ending isn't my fault!"
"In my original outline, Inaho and the princess have fallen in love, and Slaine takes her away, ending the season!"
"Don't blame me if people die in Psycho-Pass 2, that's Ubukata's doing!"
