Those words right next to a friend's name on the list, do you read them?
I read them because those statuses usually expresses something usually important and would be very rude to go ignored.

Yes and no.
Sometimes i mock them for their statuses.

I walked into this thread thinking "what are friend statues?"...
I sometimes read them. I've found some buyers/sellers of things that way. I don't really read them for any other purpose other than that, though. Maybe mockery at times where applicable.

Only when its dramashit I like to gossip about.
But mostly I ignore it cause it usually expresses something important (to them) which I don't give a fuck about.

I do. Most of the time it's something random, but once in a while it's something to congratulate about or help with.
Seems like others rarely read mine, though...

I thought about putting "retired" in mine, but that would invoke hypocrisy and irony.

I mean, you have to open your friend list to talk, correct?
Wouldn't it be natural instinct to read it? Like, it's hovering next to the person you're about to talk to.

I see the text when I open up friends list, but when the text is wider than my friends list window I make no effort to see the rest of it.

With the exception of my 3, my friends have no statuses.

Not really.
My own status reads "Free Enchant Service". That seems like a pretty good one.

Rarely, given I rarely open my friends list too... But when I do, I just see if there's anything interesting in them other than random words. Though sometimes they can be funny.

Yep - I do, especially if I noticed it has changed.
Sometimes my friends state that they are buying or selling a particular item via their status. When you think about it, it's kind of an interesting way of advertising.

Yes, most of the time.

On the contrary I've met tons of people who say "I don't read friend statuses."
