Buying a new PC

Anyways, usage purposes... some intense rendering on absurdly large photoshop images, absurdly large sony vegas clips, and vidya gaem benchmarks for some more contemporary products. I could spend more, but I'd like to keep the loan at 1k. The minimum loan is 1k actually, and I don't think I can pull equity below that, so it'll have to be a little over... I guess.

I don't need any external peripherals, and I don't need a optical drive or a copy of windows.

I'm digging that SSD that none of the other computers at this price tag comes with. Having only two slots for ram is kind of a bummer, but I don't expect that I'll be expanding beyond 8GB for this upgrade cycle.

Unless there is a "we'll build from parts for you site" around that I don't know about, looks like I can't really avoid packaging that windows and optical drive together. I'll probably replace the case and donate the keyboard/mouse too...

I'll just buy a warranty or something to make it over 1k.

The stuff in there is pretty decent, and you can probably replace the ram with 2x 8 if needed. Given the limitation of it having to be a full functional PC I don't think you can get a lot better for the price. You can at least upgrade everything fairly easily over time, just keep in mind the power supply they use is probably as cheap as possible and might not have connectors to add more stuff, so that might be one of the first things to check.

SSDs go for pretty cheap anyway
