Totalbiscuit says there is a game called Sid Mierses Pirates that's like AC black flag only you get to drive a boat from the get go. I am going to check it out.

If you want pirating similar to AssCrack 4 with fantasy setting, try Risen 3. I haven't tried it, but from what I hear its at the very least decent. There's sea monsters and shit.

But, again, Haven't tried the game, so I don't know exactly how the whole pirate system works. Risen 1 was great, Risen 2 was peed shit, Risen 3 is supposed to be ok though.

Calling it fancier graphics is quite the understatement. For me personally the difference is too significant and I could never play the old one. At a certain point, graphics start being so bad that they destroy the atmosphere far more than intricate storytelling and deeper gameplay mechanics can increase it.
