More incompetence. Poor Communication Kills

I have an event coming up that i scheduled off of work.
Other party scheduled off too, and made reservations. Went to extend my time off.

Well, found out that not only i couldn't take off, that i had to cancel my time off (which they aren't allowed to do under normal circumstances) because somewhere someone completely dropped the ball and did not inform us that we arent allowed to take PTO/Annual. Now i have to take a full week of LWOP.

That check is going to be at most 1/3 of what it was. And as little as 1/8.

Yes, i am pretty pissed at the lack of communication this place has. At least the manager actually gave me options to take, including a schedule change.
Well, at least there's overtime.

TL;DR i am pretty much out about 1k USD

It's unresolvable.

Funny thing is, some of our employees took off BEFORE this was an issue, now they came back with finance saying "you aren't getting paid." Our manager got trumped by finance, even our union which specifically set the contract so this wouldn't happen got trumped, reason being? Finance found a loophole in the contract.

I personally said fuck it and took the week off.
