A little butler dilemma

I'm contemplating buying a butler. However, there are many who seem to be saying maids are more useful. Do the two have any big differences? I've done a bit of research and the only thing that seems to be different is the shop. I'd like to test these things out but the only way to do so would be to buy them. There's really not much out there on the interwebs about these partners but I'm not sure where else to ask for help with this. Butlers and maids are relatively expensive [S]and there's a hole in my wallet[/S], so I'd like to get some advice before making this decision. Which one would you recommend?

Butler Shop: Seal Scrolls, Fishing supplies, Magic Powder (convenience)
Butlers Repairs: Magical equipment at the same success rate as Fleta (convenience)

Maid Shop: Cooking, Taming, and Healing supplies (convenience)
Maid Repairs: Accessories at a higher success rate than anyone else (equipment surety)

I went with the maid because she affords higher success rates with both clothing and accessory repairs. I would prefer the butler's shop but that's a matter of convenience and I already have a commerce partner who sells magic powder.

i perosnally choose the butler over the maid.
but the maid sells phoenix feathers wich is nice.
