I just bought 35 reforges for the hell of it even though I haven't really done much fighting since I came back, and my lance rolled a Lv 17 Smash and Lv 20 Windmill. I heard from someone that Lv 20 Smash is almost equivalent to a elemental reforge lv 6. However, if that's true, then would this lv 17 smash be better than a lv 3 fire reforge (I had lv 3 fire before but I wanted to try to get better).

I'm fairly certain that the smash reforge is addictive, and ele's are multiplicative. I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me.
Smash 20: 600 + 200 = 800% multiplier. (+10% per level)
Ele 6: +55.5% damage. (+11.1% per level after level 1)
Suppose your max damage is 1000:
Smash 20 levels: (1000)*(8.0) = 8000
Ele 6: (1000)*(6.0)*(1.555) = 9330
And to your question...
Suppose your max damage is 1000:
Smash 17: (1000)*(7.70) = 7700
Ele 3: (1000)*(6.0)*(1.222) = 7332

lv 17 smash = ~28% extra damage to only smash assuming you are a human.
Elemental Lv 4 = ~33% extra damage to all your physical combat skills as long as you're not at BD/WD/lord/abyss.

Level 20 smash is NOT almost equivalent to elemental 6. A simple math disproves this.
Level 20 smash human with no thames: 800% damage, 920% with thames
Elemental 6: 1.55 damage multiplier. 600% × 1.55 = 930% no thames, 600% × 1.15 × 1.55 = 690% × 1.55 = 1069% thames. That's a pretty big damage gap if you ask me. Level 20 smash is about the same as elemental 4: 600% × 1.33 = 798% damage.
Should you keep it? Up to you. Level 17 smash will be about the same as level 3 elemental, but you're losing out on windmill damage, even with the current reforge. Also, don't forget about lance charge. I'd say it mainly depends on how much money you have. Do you have enough money for 70+ reforges? Then definitely reroll.

Ah dang, then my friend was wrong lol. I wish I could spend more on reforges, but unfortunately I set myself a limit (plus spent the rest of the leftover reforges on my bow and it turned out to be well worth it for sure).
Since it is technically slightly better than Fire 3, I'll definitely keep the reforge, at least for now until I can get a massive amount again. Thanks for the answers!

Well smash reforge will work every time on any enemy, since there are some enemies that are immune to elementals, and I'm certain that there will be more enemies immune to this in the future[S]if they ever release new content[/S]. Also you can wm spam more with that lance.

I'm pretty sure that if you keep spamming reforges you'll get addicted to reforges like most end-game players.

I think he meant additive.
Though jokes always fly over my head so maybe you're just messing with him.

Oh crap. My bad.
I'm not even going to correct it because it's true either way. I'm already addicted.

Smash reforges are better in places that elemental reforges don't work (lord/wd/bd)

^A thing to consider.
You could still get elemental reforge and smash/lance charge, but that would rather be a costly option. When I ran reforge simulations, to get elemental 6 and smash 19, it would have cost me 400 reforges. And note that this was a simulation, in real game, it could be different.

Oh jeez, well, knowing my luck, that would never happen. I think I used it all on my bow so...yeah lol. Still, at the moment I haven't really gone on raids yet...at least not until I start hunting for some end game enchants I think. Most likely, if anything, I would just go for elemental 6 unless by coincidence I get lv 19 smash and a lv 6 ele.
Although, I'm curious where did you get this Reforging simulator?

Item simulator (in Korean)
Start going to raids anyway. You don't need enchants to get the points. Just get the points and let other people who do the damage do the work.

I'll try, if I can figure out how to since I haven't been on one yet oops.
Thanks for the link haha.
