But that doesn't mean that it's only going to be watching animated sprites of Pokemon shoot out colorful balls at each other (just mostly). However, to make up for it, I will be having pop quizzes going on throughout the night where you can win some Nation gold. There will also be random battles issued out (if you use Pokemon Showdown), where if you win, you could win a gym leader badge! And of course, I will be holding a raffle at the end of the night, where all you need to do is join and chat in the livestream to qualify. There will be multiple prizes (that I'll come up with at a later time, since this raffle was made since we didn't have any commentators), so if you don't win the first one, you could always win another one.
We will be streaming it at twitch.tv/nationtv, so you can go ahead and use the in site viewer linked in that yellow banner up there to watch. So come an join us while we fight to see who is the best (of the 11 people in the tournament), and win the grand prize, a copy of Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS, as well as a $50 gift card of the winner's choice.
If you don't want to watch the stream for whatever reason, but you still want to follow the action, you can go to this bracket which will be updated as matches conclude.

The rules for the tournament will be as follows:
[/SIZE]1. Each trainer that qualifies must present to me a roster of 8 Pokemon they will use for the entirety of the tournament. They can build any combination of teams that consist of 6 of those 8 Pokemon for their matches. However, if a trainer uses a Pokemon that isn't registered to them, they will automatically be disqualified from the tournament, and their current opponent will automatically advance to the next round.
2. Every round, with the exception of the championship round, will be best two out of three. The championship match will be a best of five.
3. Unlike normal tournaments, the low seeds will be getting byes for the first round of the tournament. This way, they have better chances of getting further into the tournament. While this event was meant to focus more on building community and not on winning the prizes, I wouldn't exactly call it "fair" for the people who have little skill in the Pokemon meta game to go up against the people who have shown to have a better skill level with it in the first round and have no chance of advancing, even before the tournament starts. I'm sure a lot people feel the same way where they won't have any fun if they know that they're going to lose.
4. Because we'll be having our matches procedurally, instead of all at once so that we can stream each match, Trainers will only have two minutes to pick their moves.
Each trainer will get three warnings in each match if they go over two minutes. After the third warning, the player forfeits that current match automatically. Please make sure that you take care of things (bathroom, snack, etc) before your matches, and if you know that you are going to be away for an extended period of time, please let everyone know ahead of time, as well as about how long it will be before you're done, so that we can rotate things around while you take care of whatever it is that you're doing (dinner, walking dog, etc.). We'll try our best to accommodate your schedule, but remember that there are ten other people that will be waiting for you, and will probably also need to have to stop for a while for dinner themselves.
There will be a five minute break in between each match to allow rotating Pokemon in and out of their battling team.
5. Please follow Mabination's rules, whether you're watching the live stream, of if you're in the Skype call if you're going to be doing voice work. While this may not be an "officially sanctioned" event, it is for the Mabination community, so you should be able to at least follow this site's rules.
