If your client is using an excessive amount of RAM, it's likely because your client has been opened for too long. I can't remember who told me this, but Mabi's client cannot handle resource usage well. It just keeps building up over time. Simply close your client and open it again. If it's using an excessive amount of RAM without being opened for too long, then I'm not sure.

Not sure what's up with your friend but on all of my computers/virtual machines 1.4gb is the norm. I've had it open for an hour on my laptop and it's at 1.7gb now.

For me, it's usually between 1 and 1.5 gb of ram.

I'm at mid low graphics as well. My graphics card can't handle too much stuff. I get great performance though.

It also depends on where you are.
Log in and AFK in an NPC's house (like the healer or bank in Tir) and your memory usage will be much smaller.
AFK in Dunby in CH1 and your RAM will be more overloaded than [insert offensive reference to somebody's mother here].

interesting... when I open my mabi I get the "your graphics card might not handle the game well continue yes no?" window before actually starting the program butt this usually appears after I reach over 200mb. Probably cause mabi only uses my Intel HD card
After a an hour or more I hit 2gb :c

You could always use Abyss RamTrim feature as well to remove excess ram via a slash command.
