Sure time warner wants that to be a thing of the past. But still.

Unmetered, not unlimited.

You still have a finite limit- your data rate per second * however many seconds in a 30 day billing period.

The line physically cannot deliver any more than that.

But marketting loves to flash around the term unlimited, when there is no such thing. Plans with a data cap should clearly advertise such, while plans without a data cap should be advertised as unmetered- you still have a limit, but it is not a limit imposed on you by the ISP.

I'm also using time warner though, 20x2 at home and 10x1 at work. Somehow the business tier plans are way behind, I'm paying half the price for twice the capacity at home and also might get IPv6 soon while the business tier's only advantage is slightly higher priority in the trunk and comes at a cost of twice the price tag for half the power. And no plans for IPv6 yet.

Lots of cities in the U.S. have made contracts with ISPs where they are the only ISPs for X years.
For example, only X ISP can setup the cable lines in this city and such.
Politicians have poor understanding and prediction for ISPs since many of the original intentions are to bring availability for Internet access to their cities.

Well i guess "technically". But you got my point regardless i believe. Unless you felt like correcting to prove a point or something.

Was mostly a rant about false advertising using the unlimited buzzword, when the proper labelling for such service agreements should be unmetered. Course they all do it, and you see it on the server side too where someone is offering an absolutely cut-rate unlimited compared to my moderately priced fixed cap service plans.
